My 8.5month old still wakes up about 2-3times at night for a bottle. I've tried rocking her, holding her and walking around forever, putting her in my bed just to see if she just wants me there, pacifier!! as soon as it falls out her mouth she cries, kinda everything except cold turkey, to get her off the bottle. I just read that you should put water in the babies bottle at night to break her milk routine. Soon she will get tired of having water and it wont be worth waking up for. Has anyone ever tried this or no someone who has? Ill call the pedi tomorrow to see if i get an answer but was curious if it worked for someone else. My little one is 25% for weight and height so the doc says shes just small for her age (skinny) but shes gaining weight so i guess shes eating enough for her during the day. I'd like to get atleast 6hours of sleep at night because I dont see her growing out of this...soo tired!!

If you see this, leave this form field blank.

Thanks!! My little one woke up at 12:20am and she took a couple of sips of water about 1oz then woke up at 1am and drank another ounce. I just decided not to give her a bottle. It was rough last night but after 1 she slept til 5:30 (she woke several times but i made her cry herself to sleep, very hard, but!) she slept til 5:30 and just wouldnt stop crying so I gave her 4oz of cereal with half a jar of fruit mixed in it and some gerber puffs. I put her back in her crib and she was crying, I let her have a couple more sips of water(next time I'll do it in a sippy cup right after cereal) and she didn't wake up til 9:30 this morning. She got a lil whinny at 10:30 and drank 8oz. of milk. She's never drank that much before. I might have a schedule going finally and she might be on point with her feeding schedule now, solids breakfast-lunch-and dinner!! We will see. I didn't go to bed til 6:30am and it's rough but if i can get her to sleep this is all worth it!!

I was going to try this with my daughter as she is still waking up once in the night for a bottle as well... Someone had given me this suggestion... and they said that they know someone who tried it and it took about a week before their baby was sleeping through the night.

I had a simular problem with my son. I cut down the amount of formula I gave through the night. So on the first night I gave 200mls (1 bottle) of formula, the 2nd night I gave 150ml of formula, the 3rd night I gave 100ml and on the 4th night I gave 50ml and on the 5th night I gave water. It took about a week and now my son is sleeping through the night. Talk to your pedi first and they may be able to advise the best way for you to cut down the night feeding. Hope this helps
