My baby does the same thing!! Only difference is that she hates pacifier and only wants to be nursed to sleep... It's impossible for anyone else to put her to bed... :-(

When Ryan stayed in our room for the first month, and then he went into his room. And at nap time for the first 2 weeks give or take we snuggled him but after that I didn't want it to become a habit so I would lay him down all by himself. And now he doesn't like to be held to go to sleep and he will fall asleep better if his door is just open a crack. The best advice that I can give you is be pacient

It was hard, but we had to learn to let her cry when she refused to sleep. If you get worried about them, go in there every 10 to 15 minutes, for less than 30 seconds, just to kiss them and say goodnight again. leave the light low or off, and don't pick them up. this lets them know you are not abandoning them, but also not giving in to their demands. Eventually my daughter learned to put herself to sleep. I noticed after crying herself to sleep she slept longer, too.

My 10 month old daughter sleeps almost exactly 8 hours every night. She rarely wakes up in the night anymore. Sometimes she will wake up after 6 hours, then I can nurse her back to bed for a couple more.

"My baby goes to bed around 7.30- 8pm but has been waking up at 12.30 - 1.30 and wont go back to sleep unless she is in our bed it is very fustrating any ideas?"
In response to this my son often falls asleep after tea, but I have to wake him for a bottle at 8pm them play, nappy and bed by 10pm - this way he will sleep through till at least 8am if not longer some days. If I didn't do this he too would wake between 12.30 and 1.30 and nothing settles him.

My bub is almost 11 mnths and has basically slept thru the night from 6wks, from around 7-7.30pm until around 6.30am. Most days she has about 2hrs sleep during the day and about another 1/2 hr nap when I get home from work. I have been very lucky with a good sleeper.

I would say to try laying your son down later than you usually do. He may sleep longer at night. :) My daughter is 10 months old and sleeps about 10-11 hours at night. She lays down at 9-9:30 and wakes up around 7:30-8. She will usually wake up at least one time during the night for a but changing (shes a peeing machine...lol)!!! She takes 2 naps a day...ranging from 30min to 2 hours. Some days she doesn't take a nap.....I guess it all depends on the child.

Um, wow - I don't even know what to say... other than to be reminded, yet again, of how many kids - except mine - are good sleepers. Dang. First boy was up every 2 to 3 hrs until 15 mths. Levi is 11 mths today & is asleep between 7 & 7:30 but then is up every 3 hours or so. Up for good by 6am (along with his older brother). Thankfully both take about 2 hours in naps each day, otherwise I'd be bonkers about now!! :)

He has a nap in the morning for about an hour, and one in the afternoon for an hour or sometimes 2.

My son sleeps from 9-9:45am(45min) and 1-2ish(90min desireable). And then from 7pm till 7am. This all thanks to a very strict regime of now 4weeks. Stucture! And to do this at bedtime I had to let him cry. All according to this e-book I found. I am so happy and so is the rest of the family. But I think 8-5 is not bad at all. Good Luck.

Our son will go to sleep around 7pm and will sleep through (most nights) until 6.30-7am. Then he will have anything from one half hour sleep to two 1.5-2 hour sleeps in the day (although two 2 hours naps is quite a rarity!).

One is about 1 and a half hours and the other is usually only 30 mins. I think her hectic sleep schedule has to do with her being sick so often. :(

My daughter NEVER sleeps! She slept about 5-7 hours a night until she was about 3 1/2 months old, then never slept again. She goes to bed around at 10 or 11 and usually is up at 3 or 4 wanting to play, then again at 6, and 8:30am. She takes 2 short naps a day. She is extremely high energy and just never stops. Guess she's afraid she'll miss something!

My son will go to sleep around 8, and wakes around 5:30/6. He nurses and SOMETIMES dozes back off for about an hour. He doesn't nap much at school (too noisy). He averages 1.5 hours added up all day. On weekends however, he sleeps much longer b/c it is quieter.
