destiny lets me know when she's ready 2 go to sleep. she take 3 naps a day. she sleeps from 8-10am 11:30am -3 pm an she take a nap with me when i get of work 6-8pm. an she goes 2 sleep 2 every nite @10:30 an she sleeps all nite.

wow some of you are so lucky, my one year old hardly ever sleeps. He sometimes has an hr in the afternoon about 2 and thats it. On a night he doesn't sleep much, he might go down eventually about 10 sometimes later and then wakes up every couple of hrs. I give him a drink and soothe him then he goes back to sleep and then wakes up properly about 8am. I'd give anything for a full nights sleep :(

I suggest a book called Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. I bought it from Amazon. It is very useful. It seems take two naps is pretty normal. According to the book, between 12 months to 15 months, the morning nap will disappear. Yes, your kid will let you know when is the time.

My son has been taking two naps a day. First one in the morning about 9 or 10 and the second on in the afternoon around 2-3. He will sleep about an hour and a half to two hours each time. He goes to bed around 7:30 and will sleep until 7 or 7:30 in the morning.

my son has 3 good naps during the day he loves his sleep and sleeps right threw the night over all he is always happy never cry;s.. and its prob cuz of all the good sleep he gets!! I will just wait till he is ready ti drop down to one sleep im not goin to force him,, if he sleeps 3 times a day and they are good naps , why change it... he's happy like this and is a very happy baby

my little boy still has 2 naps a day he normally goes down at 11 till 12.30 in the morning and 3-4 in the afternoon he sleeps 12 hrs during the night well i think he wakes up at about 3ish most mornings but he goes back off to sleep himself

My daughter turned one on 5/3- she typically sleeps up to 11 hours overnight (8:30pm-7:15am). She usually takes a 90 minute nap at 11am & a 60 minute nap at 4. Lately she has been fighting her afternoon nap, but she still needs the rest so we often let her stay in her crib for the hour unless she is crying. I am VERY pleased with her sleep habits at this time.

Amara usually is up by 8am and then naps from 10am-12pm, then again at 3pm until about 4:30 and goes to bed a little after 8pm. I read Babywise and started her on a schedule as soon as possible. I am so thankful she is such a good sleeper and has a great temperment!

Mine usually naps once a day, but sometimes she needs two. She's generally up around 8a.m. and will nap sometime around Noon for 2-2.5 hrs. She's in bed by 9 and sleeps for 11 hours. I just go with what she needs, if she's cranky/fussy, I put her down for a 2nd nap. Just do whatever makes them happy and you'll be happy!

Our little man just turned 1, and he is still having 2 naps a day. He sleeps from 7pm-7am, then has a nap of an hour or so at around 9.30am and then another nap of around an hour at 3.00pm.
I feel very very lucky.

my guy is 1 yr and he wakes up at about 630-7 am and goes down for his 1st nap at 9 for about 1.5 hrs. his next nap is after lunch at 1230 for another 1.5 hrs and then another nap around 4 for 1 hr before supper. then he goes to bed for the night at 730. 3 naps in one day? yes, it's awesome and then a 12 hr night on top of it all.... how lucky are we??

I am a lucky mama. My son wakes between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning. He takes a 2 hour nap around 10:00 AM and another 1.5-2 hour nap around 3:00. Then he goes to bed between 7:30-8:00 AM. I a hoping that lasts a while longer but I know how lucky I am and that it prob won't last.

My daughter was born May 6th, she has one 40 minute nap a day, at 2pm. Some days she won't even have this nap. She sleeps from 8-9pm to 8-9am each night. She seems happy during the day with just 1 nap.

Sleep is SO VERY important on our house. The book Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child saved our life!! Penelope was not a good sleeper, then I got that book and started sleep training her at 6 months and she is a completely different child with enough sleep. So she sleeps from 7:30/8 pm until 7:30/8 am. Than takes a 2 hour moring nap around 10 am and then rest in the afternoon for about 1.5 hours, sometimes she sleeps and sometimes she just lays in her crib and rest. I suggest this book to everyone who is having issues with their childs sleep. I don't like the schedule type sleep, just because that isn't our personality, but we let Penelope sleep when she shows us she is tired. I mean she has kind of made her own schedule, but we are all flexible about it, if she only needs one nap that is all she gets, if she needs 2 we make sure she gets 2. My husband and I, both have attention problem and niether of us sleep well, knowing that we had issues that was one of the most important things to us was to teach our kids how to sleep and rest properly.

Babies usually change their sleeping habits on their own. All of my children went from having 2 naps to one nap once they hit a year old.Babies usually get about 18 hours of sleep per day then they get lesser the older they get. But it also depends on what time she gets up. I knew people who had their babies sleep an AM and PM because of the time they woke up.

My daughter is a 1 year old and depending how early she wakes up, she will take 2 naps, no shorter than 30 min but no longer than 1 hour. I do this so I won't have to get up so much at night. I would change it to once a day if baby is staying up longer during the night. But if night sleep in undisturbed due to naps I would just let the little one nap away :)

kagen takes two naps a day about the same as your Lily...i just go by how he feels...some days he will take one nap but for the most part he takes two. if he misses one nap, he wont sleep as well at night time

My daughter has always taken two naps, ab out two hours each, per day. Over the past few weeks I've somewhat cut down to one because she's been sleeping in late- until 10 am or later! Then I put her down after lunch and she almost always sleep for at least two hours. At nighttime she gets 10-12 hours sleep.

my lil girl sleeps from 1030 to 800 then during the day sleeps about 30 mins bf lunchtime and then takes another nap from 430 to 7 if she doesnt get her naps she is miserable

Sleep is SO important at this age! From those that can't get your child to sleep more than 20-30 minutes during the day you should check out the book, "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child." They really should be taking at least one good nap a day at this age. You'll be amazed that when your child sleeps good during the day, they'll also sleep more at night. MORE sleep = more sleep... b/c on overly tired child is restless, hyperactive, and too tired to have good quality sleep.

From the time we began sleep training at 4 months my daughter has taken at least two good (2 hour long) naps a day. Lately her morning nap has gotten a little shorter (1.5hr), but she still needs two naps. If your child is bouncing off the walls, or hyper-active that's a huge sign that they are overly tired.

Anyway, my son was 15 months when he dropped his morning nap and then he started taking a good 3.5hr nap in the afternoon. He's 3 now and still sleeps 2 hours in the afternoon... because at our house sleep is VERY important.

my daughter ashleigh has 1 sleep throw the day for about 1 and a half hours to about 2 hours. than about 10-12 hours thow the night but still gets up to bottles about 2/3 times a night

My lil girl is not a big sleeper!! She will have a half hour sleep in the morning and maybe in the afternoon not always and she doesnt even sleep through the night!!! So different to my sisters kids who are in school and still sleep for an hr or so in the afternoon

My son actually just started napping about two weeks ago. At about 5 months, he just stopped sleeping in the day, no matter how tired he got. I'm just so happy he's getting more rest now!

Ella is not a big napper at all. She takes a 20 min nap in the morning and 30-1hr nap in the late afternoon... and that's it. She's too busy to sleep. HELP ME RHONDA!

Your kid will let you know when it's time. They will naturally cut out one nap when they are ready. My son takes at least one, most days two naps a day. Each nap lasts around 2 hours and he sleeps about 10 hours a night. I'm fine with how many naps he takes and I let him sleep whenever he is tired. I'd rather he sleep when he is tired, than deal with a fussy and cranky toddler.
