How much hair does your baby have??

For those of you that have kids with a lot of hair... what are you doing about sun protection? Do you use a special hair sun screen (and have a recommendation)? Or do you think they have enough hair to prevent any part of their scalp from burning? Will your child wear a hat?
I measured my daughters hair today and she has 5 inches from the top of her head. It's too thick to just lather with regular sunscreen, but it's thin enough that I'm worried about her scalp burning. Any suggestions?!

Hey Sarah i feel you my son born May 10 had a good amount of light brown hair, but since it's thinned out due to cradle cap, and lightened up. so he's got maybe an inch all around his head and 2 or 3 inches on top. but it's blond and nearly invisible. Plus he has a bald spot on the back of his head from resting and rubbing it in his crib.

My son was born with allot of hair from the start. He had his first hair cut at 4.5 months and at 8.5 months by his grandma. Last week we had his first professional hair cut and it did not go well at all and he is now 10.5 months. I had his hair cut mainly because everyone kept mistaken him for a girl even through i had him in always boyish clothes.

My son was born with a full head of hair! After his 1st bath in the hospital, my sister and I were already styling it into a mohawk :) He was born on May 10th, and has since had 4 haircuts. The funny thing is that I never had heartburn when I was pregnant! I was always told that a pregnant lady who had lots of heartburn meant the baby would have lots of hair -- So NOT true in my case :)

My daughter has enough on top for two really good pig-tails. I've never cut her bangs, so she has to wear it swooped to the side with a bow or in pig-tails. Most people are surprised that she has so much, but I think my son actually had more at this age.
Edited to add: I measured today and she has exactly 5 inches on top if you hold it straight up.
