My daughter is 8 months old and has been managing well doing baby led weaning but, i'm due to return to work at the end of the month and i'm worried about what daddy can feed dear daughter for lunch while i'm at work. not really keen on pre done baby food as she eats what we do at dinner time but i think hubby will be swamped cooking twice a day. up until now i've 'cheated' by giving breakfast and dinner and breast feed duriing the day on demand. Help!!

Christoffer really likes sweet potatoes and carrots so I use them allot. Here is some of the meals I make. I usually make allot at a time so I can freeze it and reheat when I need it.

Rise, chicken, carrot and apple. Cook everything but the apple soft and then ad it in the end. Mix everything whit a little bit of butter.

Potatoes, carrots, Swedish turnips and sweet potatoes whit some minced moosemeat. (this is something we usually serve the whole family. We just ad some spices for our selves.

Here are some of Kezia's favourite lunch time meals:
Lentils with cheese and mashed carrot
Sweet potato with butternut squash
Finely chopped onion and red pepper softened in a pan with butter and cous-cous added
Mixed mashed veg with a home made cheese sauce
The inside of a jacket potato mashed with butter and with tuna, or cheese, or baked beans added
Pear mashed with milk, baby rice and cinnamon
Mango and pear mashed together
HTH a bit ... there are lots of website online that give you recipes - especially people who make baby formula! Or there is also the recipe swap forum on this site. :D

Charlie really likes his vegies so I make up a few different combinations for him and stir through some grated cheese or ricotta cheese when I defrost and re heat them. Also likes a simple chicken casserole which was chicken breast tomato paste and vegetables cooked then pureed. Only took a short time to cook and made about 5 meals to freeze. I get most of my inspiration from A book by Annabel Karmel. she has quite a few different recipe books out specially produced for babies and toddlers. Good luck with returning to work.

You can get really tiny pasta that cooks in a couple of minutes, I grated carrot and zucchini in with it and a bit of spaghetti sauce and Finlay loved it. Also likes tuna with mashed potato and cheese sauce.

Hi you can prepare food in advance and freeze easy for dad to defrost and feed to your little girl. I generally cook up enough to last for a week or two for three meals a day and defrost just before each meal If you don't want to have to spend the time cooking in advance just cook a little extra each night for dinner and Dad can give that for lunch the next day.
