Great. In fact it’s good that you are ready in advance. I have seen many mommies running till the last minute to arrange things. Its never too early to start planning your child’s birthday but make sure you are always on time.

No no no no I don't want to think about it. Lol. Hes not supposed to be fixing to turn one. But Im not spending alot of money on "character" stuff. My sons not really into anything like spiderman or stuff like that yet so I don't see the point of spending money on that stuff. For my baby shower I had blue everything (obviously lol) and so Im just using that stuff for the plates and stuff cause we had a crap ton of extra stuff and im getting some other babys first bday decorations to go with it. and Im making 2 cakes because every baby needs there own cake to get filthy in!! Lol. But I still don't want to think about it. my baby is not suppose to grow this fast.

I think I must just be weird. I haven't really thought about his party at all. I don't know what to get him, and I don't really feel like planning anything. I'm looking forward to him being a year old though.

I am just having a big party at home. We did his nursery in a robot theme so we are going to go with a robot party theme. He loves robots, which is a good thing since he has so much robot stuff lol. Going to get a robot banner with his name on it and robot balloons, plates, cups, center peices, ect. http://www.birthdayexpress.com/Robots-Pa...

I've been researching and scheming for about three months now, his birthday it still two months away, but I'm still clueless about what I'm doing. I'm hugely conflicted because its always been a family tradition to have a HUGE celebration for a child's first birthday, I mean we are talking like wedding HUGE, hall rentals and hundreds of invitations sent out. My family is bugging me about who, what, where, when, and whys since he was 6 months old and I'm totally lost on what to do. I don't want to offend my family by not having a huge party, but I don't know if I really want to have a huge party. I mean, yeah my family is planning on help me pay for this HUGE party they want, but its not about the money ... its about the memories. I just hope it goes well whatever I end up planning.

I started planning his party months ago lol. We live in Germany but are going home to MD for his first birthday so I had to start early. We rented a room in a Rec Center for his party. It's a pirate theme! I got AWESOME personalized invites online andwe're making him a pirate face smash cake and the big cake is going to look like a treasure map. I ordered a party pack from Party City that came with all the decorations and such. I'm so excited. We're serving soda, iced tea and water for drinks and fried chicken/chicken nuggets, coleslaw, potato salad for food. I hope it turns out fun!

I planned all 3 (my 9yr olds, my 9mths olds and my hubbys) birthdays about a month ago one night. LOL. Ty's (my 9mth old) is going to have the Lil' cupcake theme from Birthdayexpress.com under 1st b-days. I'm making him a big top cupcake as his "dig in" cake, and I'm making regular size cupcakes and a little bigger than reg size cupcakes for the guests. They will be decorated like the theme. hehe. I'm so super excited. I can't believe in about 2 months he'll be 1!!!

We're doing the party at home so it's easier cleanup (bath tub). The top part of ty's cake will be choc and the bottom part will be white cake, and then a mix (or marble) for guests cupcakes. I'm actually ordering his birthday stuff this week so then I can color match for the solid stuff. (so things are cheaper I do so much in theme and get like solid colored napkins, plates, tablecloths, I mostly get invites, cake plates, 1 pk of theme napkins, and 1 tablecloth for gift/cake table. Somtimes the birthday banner in theme, but the rest in solid colors and it saves money! More to spend on gifts. hehe.

Everything will be Hawaiin themed including the cake which will be decorated with flowers. They'll be lei making, limbo, and hopefully a kiddie pool (if its warm enough). I'm so excited!

I have been thinking about it for a few months already...lol. I bought her a brown corduroy dress with a butterfly on it, and the undershirt is pink with brown polkadots. So I am going to do a polka dot theme with the same colors that are in her dress. Chocolate cake with big polka dot sprinkles, and ofcourse her own personal cake to enjoy all by herself!

I am doing Cokie Monster but it's a little discouraging that a lot of Cookie Monster stuff comes with the rest of the sesame street gang. We had gotten my son a stuffed cookie monster for Christmas and he just fell in love with it. We're gonna do a cookie cake for the big cake and then have a lil cupcake for him. Doing blue plates and napkins, have a cookie monster pinata, I am excited, I've had it planned since January haha but in my defense, my stepdaughter's birthday is April 1st and I have a cousin's birthday in April and my sister is due in June (baby shower in April) so there's a lot going on and it was just easy to go ahead and plan it

I started planning it last month. For the past 13 years I have been planning girly parties for my 2 daughters and I finally got my little boy, so I am super excited about planning a boys party!!! I am having a baby's 1st Sports Birthday Party. Everything blue and sports! I have already reserved a shelter at the park, bought all the party supplies and now all I have to do is just wait for the party. Unfortunately my husband lost his job a few months ago so I can go over board like I do with all my girls parties. Have fun planning your little one's party.

Yes I have been starting to plan my daughters birthday! I am going to make one of those cupcake cakes that have butterflies on each individual cupcake. I'm gonna do a barbecue/ pot luck at a local park, with all sides of her family to be invited, (her father and I are not together, but on good terms :)). She LOVES to be outside, so I think she will enjoy that.

Hi - Cooper will be one on May 6th. I am excited about him turning one. Last summer I bought a water splashpad at Target on sale. Towards the end of the summer Target begins to put a lot of their toys on clearance. I bit worried about the weather being rainy and not being able to use the pad. Paper products and stuff has been Elmo.

I have been planning my daughters since christmas with her Aunt. since her cousin is 10 yrs older and they share the same birthday, we are combining the 2 into one celebration with my family, and my hubby's family. I plan on having a princess themed cake for her, as she is my little princess, and first grandchild on my side of the family.

i'm thinking of making matilda's first birthday cake carrot cake which will hopefully be more healthy than a standard brightly coloured and highly sugared cake. a friend of mine did a cake last year in the shape of a rubber duck and it was beautiful! i don't know if i'm dreaming or aiming too high, but i'm going to try and make a rubber duck carrot cake. the icing will be cream cheese coloured using tumeric to avoid using nasty dyes. it may also be gluten free because we have quite a few coeliacs in my family. wish me luck! other than that, the good old classics, chocolate crackles, fairy bread, lolly bags etc etc. :)
