I've been looking for various decorations for a few weeks because we are having two parties also, one in NC and the other a little over a month later in ND so that both sides of his family can enjoy his first birthday. We are grilling out a local park for both parties, the theme at one being imagination movers and the other Micky mouse clubhouse. We doing store bought cupcakes with decorated toppers to prevent ants and he will get a "smash" cake at the 1st party.

I've been obsessing over my sons first birthday for months now!! Everyone thinks I'm crazy, but he's our first and we waited for him for so long, so mama's excited!! :-)

We are actually having two parties. One in Houston (where all our family is, and one here in Mass where we live). The Houston party is going to be Lil Prince theme. I found a bunch of cute Lil Prince stuff on 1stwishes.com. I'm going to have a prince cake made for the adults and make some sugarfree banana cupcakes for him to dig into. Then decorate with all the Lil Prince stuff. We'll prob. just have it at my mom's house. For food I'm thinking little finger sandwiches (in the shape of crowns), veggie tray, deviled eggs, finger foods like that.

For our party here at our house I am thinking we are going to go with a monkey theme. 1st wishes has some really cute mod monkey stuff too, and a cake pan. So, I might try making the cake for our party here.
SOOO excited! :-)

I have been planning my son's birthday for a few months now. His Dad is English and its the World Cup this year for soccer so we will be having a World Cup themed party. I will make a little round soccer ball for his personal cake and then a large sheet cake with players and goals on for family and friends. I hope he is walking by then because we will also have a few fun games for all the kids to play. I am also asking his friends to where a jersey of the team they will be supporting in the World Cup. I'm sure we will have a few USA players but we also have English, Italian and Argentine supporters coming so it should be fun! Cant wait!!

HI!
Here I was thinking that I was the only one thinking of my daughter's first birthday-(she is also my first baby) So I've been looking for decorations and trying to think what I can possibly buy her for her birthday- I do want to make her her own cake that she can just dig in and do watever she wants with it. Maybe a Caillou cake since she seems to love him so much. Im excited to celebrate her 1st birthday. Although, I found the time went by way to fast.

I'm also glad to see that I'm not the only one planning my son's first birthday so early. I'm thinking of ordering a cake either a train or jungle theme, haven't decided yet. I've also been looking at getting photo invitations done, so we can put some nice pictures of him on the invitations.

Yay! I'm glad I'm not the only one :) I'm planning to have a Yo Gabba Gabba (on Nick Jr.) themed party for my son. He LOVES the show whenever it comes on, and is instantly glued to it! I'm going all out.. I have a specialty cake ordered that is 3 tiers, with each tier being a character (Muno, Plex and Brobee). I'm making the invitations, so I can customize them how I like. I'm searched on ebay for some stuff, but celebrateexpress.com has been the best! The crazy thing is that on top of being a mommy, I also work full-time graveyard and am enrolled at a community college 3/4 time status :) My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts, but he's my 1st baby and I have to spoil him :)

I love to plan so I am definatly thinking about his first birthday. We are considering going to the Rain Forest Cafe. It might be too expensive but that is the direction we are looking at. I would also love to make a lion cake if I am allowed to.

Im constantly looking up decorations and party theme ideas. Im very excited. Dad wants it to be something like football or dinosaurs but his entire bedroom is decorated in fisher price precious planet stuff so i was thinking more a long the lines of animals. Cant start planning too much yet tho, My 2 yr olds bday is this month so we have to plan his party first (elmo everything!) His name is Thomas so for his first two partys we had EVERYTHING Thomas the Train (his nickname is Train) Now that hes turning three he has requested Elmo. Planning their partys is so much fun! Im taking my baby to get his 1 yr portrait done (in May obviously) and the photographer suggested bringing in a cake and letting him tear through it. We CANT wait!!!! Enjoy!
