Yup! My hair started to shed at around 4 months postpartum and it got so bad that my temples were bald! I could only wear my hair one way- down and parted in the middle to cover my bald temples. My son is now a little over 5 months and my temples are growing back but I'm still shedding. My hair is normally thick and unruly so having it be thinner is a blessing in disguise. I thought I would be prepared for tall the shedding after all the reading up I did when I was preggers but when you see the clumps in the shower I freaked out. It will soon pass. I'm dealing.

I had similar problem with my first baby boy. I found taking CoQ10 vitamin helped to bring my hair growth back. I'm not losing hair so far with my second baby, now 5 months after delivery.

Your hair gets thicker when you're pregnant, and after your baby is born, your hormones go back to normal and you start losing that hair. Plus, shedding is a natural part of the "hair life cycle." Don't worry about it. I'm shedding like a sheep dog right now, too.

oh yes this is very common. I lost clumps with both girls. and then you have all new regrowth, not fun!

YES! My daughter is 5 months and for the last month or so I lose quite a bit of hair in the shower or when I run my fingers through it. My husband jokes with me because we have a light colored tile floor in our bathroom and it is covered with my hair every couple of days. He always says "when did we get a rug in the bathroom?". Anyway, this is supposed to be normal, but I hope it stops soon.

I've been loosing my hair for about a month now, my hair stylist warned me this would happen. It's normal for a person to shed about 100 hairs on average everyday, when you're pregnant, for whatever reason, you don't shed as much hair and your hair thickens... remember that beautiful healthy hair you had? Well this is just your bodies way of catching up and shedding off all those extra locks... or so this is how my hair stylist explains it :) in other words, it's completely normal. She actually pulled my hair back and showed me the spots along my hairline that were growing back.. I never wear my hair with my bangs pulled back and I looked like an old man with a receding hairline! She assured me my hair was growing back and i wasn't going bald.

My Lily is 5 months old and my hair is STILL falling out. My hair doesnt appear to be thinner, so obviously i am replenishing, but still....it can be quite alarming.

Yes....I have an IUD placed in my uterus. And it makes my hair fall out in clumps, me hot all the time, and mood swings all the time. I hate it because I am taking it out on my husband and he does not deserve it. Needless to say I am getting it removed on November 2nd.

Hi! I feel like i might go bald soon if my hair keeps falling out too!! My maternal child health nurse tell me is because of the breast feeding. Hope that helps. xx

I'm a Mum of four and yes mine fell out after each baby was about 3-4 months. It's because you grow so much more hair when you're pregnant, that after the pregnancy hormones have settled down, you're excess hair falls out. It last for a few months, then it starts to grow back again at your pre-pregnancy rate. Don't worry. Mine got very, very thin, but it always goes back to normal.

Oh may gosh!! I do this everytime I have a baby...I think this time was the worst. It continued for over a month and I thought I was probably going to be bald by the time I was done. My hair is so thin anyway. I think I'm finally at the end of it.

I have been losing small amounts here and there. I am a breast-feeder and maybe it is due to lack of proper nutrition of some sort.

Oob yes, it is amazing, my daughter is 18 weeks tomorrow and MY hair is coming out in bunches. I have no idea how to help this problem. I have been being extra careful combing after shower, but it does not seem to help!!

My hair is falling out like crazy! Every time I touch it, hair falls. I have heard this is normal. Hopefully I don't go bald before this stops.

very normal, my hair was falling out heaps but it has started to slow down again.

the hair cycle is interupted when you are pregnant and this is just its way of catching up, there are lots of threads in this forum regarding this already, have a look back through and you should get some more answers.

so don't stress it happens to alot of women after having babies
