my daughter is 9 months old and doesn't completely walk on her own yet. she does the same thing you said you're child is doing. it's normal!!!

yes babies do walk at 7 months!! most dont. I have a nephew that did, thats the only one I personally know.. My oldest son was walking at 11 months and my twins at 12 and 12 and a half months. all babies are different. most do walk around 10-18 months...

Your sister in law and brother had to get there months confused I have never seen a seven month old walk. and if one did it its rare cause most babies do not walk till after there first birthday. Perhaps they need to feel better about themselves by pointing out there kids are better then yours.

That's the first time I have heard of such a small baby walking. They normally should be crawling by nine months and walking by a year. My second is crawing now at seven months, but my first was only doing it properly at nine months

Samantha is 7 months old and is crawling and pulling her self up, but all babies are different. My oldest son was walking at 9 months and my other son was walking at 10 months. I had a nephew that didn't walk until he was 15 months.

Sure in his walker! lol! Other then that he's pulling himself up into standing postion, sitting up and crawling.

My little boy isn't even crawling yet, he rolls around a bit, and rocks back and forth but he doesn't really like tummy time, he gets grumpy. He is sitting up with cushions around as he still falls over occassionaly, he loves to jump when we hold him up, but no def not walking yet.. He was born on 21st May.

I am in the same position as some- this is my very last baby so I am not worried about her doing anything to fast lol. My oldest (almost 14 now..geesh) did EVERYTHING early, and honestly, it just made me wanna have another one so I could actually hold one longer lol. He was so independent, crawled at 4 months, walked at 8 months, just in a hurry to do it all.. I wanted one that I could cuddle more! lol My second was pretty lazy. He didn't walk until he was 13 months old. I thought ack! Since of course my first walked early and took the second to the doctors. He was a big boy.. and the doctor said "Honey, he just can't support his own weight on his own yet!" The other two boys developed fine but then Bella comes along.. She is in no hurry to do anything. She still has fits if you put her on her belly to play and will pull herself up on ANYTHING she can find lol. Wipes containers, her Christmas gifts, you name it (which of course then she tips it over, or falls and makes me run lol) She has no interest in crawling whatsoever! I kind of worry but then again, she is my last so I am very relieved she is taking her time :)

I've heard of babies walking at 9 months... but at 7! wow... there is an early bloomer. My son didn't crawl until he was 9 months or so and he didn't walk until 15 months. My now 7 month old is still working on crawling but she was fairly "on schedule" for rolling and lifting her head. Don't worry too much about their development yet... kids will even out by age 4... I didn;t believe it until it happened with my first.

My daughter was born on 19th May and she is crawling and only pulling herself up on furniture and 'furniture wallking' but cannot walk unsupported, though she does love when we hold her hands and assist her 'walk'

My son (now 2 years old) didn't start walking until his first birthday, I would say normally first babies take their time because they really don't have anyone their size to copy, second babies and so on try to imitate their siblings as much as possible. My daughter gets frustrated because she's not walking yet. But I'm loving the crawling stage, she is just too cute :)

My youngest is 7 mos. and is trying to crawl - up on all fours but rocking only. Right now he rolls to get place to place. :) My oldest (who will be 3 in Feb) walked at 10 mos and I thought that was REALLY early. My sister was the only baby I've heard of that walked that early - we chalked it up to her being so small that she didnt have much bulk to weigh or slow her down. :)

All children meet milestones at different times. I think the average age for walking is 15 months. There is something called the Nippissing Screening that health officials use to determine if there is a delay or not. If the child doesn't meet the criteria for their age then it is recommened that you see a doctor. My first started walking at 11 months and didn't crawl until 10. He did however get to where he wanted to by rolling. My youngest is 7 months and either rolls or does the army crawl. This might be our last so I am in no hurry to want him to walk.

Abygail born May 12th is 7.5 months has been crawling (I mean really crawling not scooting) since the begining of her 6th and now pulls up on things but no standing alone or walking. 7 months is rare. My older 2 girls were 9 months which is considered early.

Hi,
The age that your children start walking is directly related to when you and your partner started walking. Average age for children to start walking independently is 15 months but if you were walking independently at 10 months and your partner was at 12 months good chance your child will start walking then.
My little girl is 7.5 months and only just trying to pull herself up on the furniture and in my eyes that is way to soon, I wont her to be a baby for a little longer, but as both my partner and I were very early walkers I think she will be walking soon

Walking at 7 months may happen from time to time but that is not typical at all so dont feel bad if your son isnt. Dont rush him bc once he does thats it... he is on his way to growing up fast!!

My baby boy Harrison is 7 months (born May 18th) and walks if hes holding on to my finger, he walks along furniture and has been crawling since 4 1/2 months. It all came a little too early! He hasn't been a baby for long and now hes already trying to be a toddler. He's a big boy though weighing 24Ibs.

My little Girl Madilyne isnt walking yet she's 71/2 months old, she is almost crawling. but, i suppose its up to the baby and yours is quiet advanced as it is, already pulling himself up and all Wow!! it wont be long!

My baby boy is 7 months on 27th Dec and has started crawling slowly, seems keen to be in standing position.holding on to furniture. However I prefer him to spend more time crawling instead of rushing to walking as crawling has more benefits to him in developing connection between right and left brain.

My lil chunk isn't even crawling yet. He finds ways to maneuver around to get what he wants. He just started sitting but only when we plop him. Every baby is different. My girls were almost a year and my son 14 mo before he walked.

my baby is doing the same thing crawling and pulling up on furniture and walking around it but not walking around by him self it is very very rare that babies will walk that early most dont walk until around a year..

Not at all, my little girl is the same way. She loves to be on her belly, but never has attempted to do anything else. I have 2 older boys that walked at 9 months, and I'm soooo glad my little girl is not their yet, it goes way to fast from that point on, and then we have a whole new set of worries.!

Thanks for all the responses. It's kinda fun to see how far other babies are compared to Gage. Not that it really matters since they all develop at their own pace. I was just curious. He's standing up in his crib every morning now so we had to lower the mattress :P

My daughter does not crawl, but rolls over, scoots, walks with assistance, pull ups and standing on her own....maybe walking soon I believe though (wishful thinking, lol!)

Not even close for our girl, she is 7 months + 11 days. She rolls all over but hasn't really attempted to pull herself up on furniture. Could be that we are scooping her up too quickly - LOL! Our 3.5 year old didn't walk until 13 months....we aren't worried, it will happen!

No walking for us, but I wouldn't be surprised if my daughter is walking by 9 months. My son walked shortly before he turned 9 months old and my daughter seems to be following the same developmental path.

hi , my son is turning 7 months on the 29 th on he can stand up by himself but holding his waist and he is pulling himself up and sits uprite unassisted bu no way is he walking as he can crawl yet . i heard that babies spine is still developing between 6 / 7 months so i dont know , some babies are just quick and cant wait to walk around.

Walking at 7 months?! Quite a rarity, from what I read from the "experts". Aaron is just barely crawling, and loves to stand and "walk" with assistance. :)

Our daughter (May 6th birthday) was only "cruising" along the coffee table and couch, but last night she let go of the couch, turned and took two steps towards her daddy!

She is 7.5 months though, and I am sure she has months ahead of her of just taking a step or two. I have never heard of a baby WALKING at 7 months.

my lil guy is 7 months and 1 week, he's not walking on his own yet but he's pulling himself up on things and he likes to stand holding onto whatever/whoever, he crawls, but not on his hands and knees, he just looks like a worm on his belly..

My lil one was born May 3rd and he will roll all over the place and do this belly crawl. He will stand up if I hold his hands, but can't pull himself up just yet. Probably won't be too long though.

Adalyn just started crawling but is now pulling up on everything. She wants to walk so bad, but she's a bigger baby and Ive heard big babies are slow to walk.

Not a chance for us, as Joseph was 3 months premature he can't even roll over yet! I have loads of other 7 month old baby friends and not one is walking yet.
