I gained a ton with my first but this time around I can't seem to--most of my appointments showed a loss instead :\ My last two appointments showed half pound gains, though, so yay! five weeks to go and I've barely passed the seven pound mark......

I guess it is impossible to compare! And everyone looks so lovely in their pregnancy photos anyway...I wish I didn't worry so much about it :) it is just very scary when you pack on the weight in such a short period of time- but hey! We have babies growing inside of us! I do feel better knowing that other people are conscious of it too though :)

Im due May 25th so im 32 weeks now. I wieghed 135lbs from the start and now i wiegh 161lbs. So i have gained a total of 27lbs so far. I hope thats not bad that i have gained that much. But i feel pretty good so think im good. :)

I'm due may 25, no idea how many weeks that makes it....I think I have forgoten how to count along with everything else. I have put on 13Kg, this is my second baby and last time I put on 20 Kg even, but lost 12Kg by the time I got home after 4 days, I am hoping the same will happen this time, or its back to the shake diets ahhhhh.

Stories like that make me feel better because I have tried to be good (sometimes I go for the cravings :) but I have put on 17 pounds and I am 33 weeks...I am a lot shorter than you, 5"7 but i got such a shock when i stood on the scales last night...it is only in photos that make me wince...otherwise i feel so lovely and round! X

as of Monday, at 31 weeks, I've gained 21 lbs! This is great for me, b/c with my 1st i only gained 12 lbs. I got really underweight after having him, and started off this pregnancy at 114lbs (i'm 5'7). I'm hoping I don't lose that much weight again (I know, I have the opposite problem of most, but it sucks to be too skinny after having a baby too.) and i hope to gain another 10 lbs before having this one!

I'm 31 weeks along, and so far have gained about 4 lbs. I'm trying to keep fit, and focus on eating from the 4 food groups. I still eat icecream & chocolate and stuff, but I pay attention to the amounts now. I was trying to lose weight before I became pregnant, so I don't want to just let myself go and have to start all over again.

I just wanted to update....Im 28 weeks and have gained exactly 20 lbs. After reading through the posts it seems about average...which I guess is good. Im hoping to keep the final gain under 35 lbs...which leaves me 15 lbs in about 10 weeks(scheduled c-section)...Im guessing thats possible. I nursed my last 3 for a year each, no supplimenting at all for 6-8 months and it never really seemed to help my weight loss. If anything I was probubly at my best with 6-8 weeks after delivery...but being up to nurse every 2-3 hours made me drink a huge glass of water...and shove a cookie or three in my mouth. I gained after every pregnancy for the first couple of month....PLEADING with myself not to do that again...

I am 30 weeks and have gained about 32lbs or so. I was tiny before I got preggars and I am only 5'2. This is my first baby and I think as long as we are doing what is good for the baby it should not matter how much weight we gain within reason. As long as my baby is healthy I will deal with my own weight later. They say breastfeeding helps you lose the weight quick! :)

I am 30 weeks and have gained about 25 lbs. With my daughter I gained 50 lbs total but the doctor said if you start under weight you tend to gain more. I was only 100 lbs when I got pregnant with her...and never returned to that weight...but I did lose all but 15.

I had been dieting prior to my pregnancy and hear that women that diet pack on more pounds when they get pregnant because they stop counting calories and what they eat. So true in my case! Plus I think I tripled my milk intake (although it is skim), I can't seem to drink enough!

I'm 5'10" and I went from about 155 to 175 and I'm 28 weeks, so about 20 lbs. All the moms I know think I'm stayin pretty skinny, but after reading this blog I feel like I'm putting on too much weight, even though it's average..

I am 29 weeks and have gained about 25 pounds as well! Not terrible, but not super great either! But with my first I packed on about 75 pounds so I'm feeling pretty good this time around! Although I never fully lost it all after my first (which was so long ago I'm embarrassed to admit it!) You girls are doing great - don't worry too much!

I'm up about 16 pounds from my starting weight of 140, but I actually was at 132 while I was sick. So to my body it feels more like I've gained 24. I just want to keep these high scale scores the highest ones that I'll be at in life.

Okay so all of you ladies are making me feel HUGE (which I already knew i was) lol I'm due May 15 and I have gained 37 lbs already...I started off weighing 123 and now I'm 160, but I guess I can say the good thing is I'm all belly. The rest of me is still fairly the same size, but god 37 LBS?!?!? and the odd thing is I don't eat everytime I see food...just when I'm hungry and I don't use the pregnancy to go overboard....so i'm really not sure why I'm the size of a whale lol

i gained 25 pounds when i was only 6 weeks pregnant....i then lost some due to bad moring sickness for 3 months then put it all back on plus some....i was 96 pounds before this baby now im 132 and im 26 weeks....

Normal weight gain for 28 weeks is 25-27 pounds. I have gained 26ish. So far I have been right on target, while not depriving myself of all the cravings I get (today it was pudding...mmmm pudding).

Lucky you Athena! Hope all is well and you are not too sick. I was sick in the begining, but eating made me feel better. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who has put on almost 30 lbs by 28 weeks. It really made me feel better. Thanks guys!!

I have only gained about 8lbs. in the first few months i lost like 10 lbs so I'm now back to just over my starting weight!! I'm 5'4" and I started weighing 165 now i'm at 173 as of yesterday!! this is my first baby and I"m super excited

Now I am 27 weeks and I have gained about 19 lbs. I was a little underweight to start so I don't feel bad at all. With my daughter, I gained 50 lbs and lost it all and more afterwards. I know that all depends on metabolism, but don't freak out too much if you are packin on the pounds!

I'm glad to see that other people are gaining weight. I was feeling like I've gained a ton at 28 weeks and 25 pounds. I was really hoping not to gain more than 25 lbs total, but I've reconciled myself to the fact that that's just not going to happen. I'm really hoping to lose it without too much trouble after baby comes. Sometimes stepping onto the scale is just shocking - I don't think I've been eating that much, but it just keeps adding up like mad!

I am up to 32 lbs gained and I will be 30 weeks on Tuesday. I went on vacation for a week and walked the entire time, yet I gained 5lbs during that week. The rest of the month I had only gained 2 lbs, while I sat on the couch. This is strange for me as I tried to gain weight for over a year prior to being pregnant. I am going to be an umpa lumpa!!!!

I am 28 weeks and just went to my OB visit and have gained 29 lbs total. I really think I've only gained an actual 20 lbs. because my first OB visit was after I was sick for a month and I actually lost 9 lbs then. I blame the holiday's a bit too, but everyone say's me and the baby are doing fine and that's all that matters to me. If I'm hungry the baby could be hungry so bring on the food!

I hear you Keela, I was so surprised that everyone has only gained 5-15lbs, I've gained 25lbs so far (I'm at around 28 weeks) I was about 145 to start with and I'm around 5'4". Almost all the moms I know near my age gianed close to 50lbs with their first baby and were almost all able to lose that (and then some) within 6 months, so I don't feel that freaked out. I seem to be having these spurts where I gain a lot (8-9lbs) in a couple weeks and then nothing for 6-8 weeks. My mom never gained a pound in her third trimester, (She has always been very thin though) she said the babies just seemed to suck the fat from the rest of her body during the last couple months (she had 6 kids) I think I might just be dreaming if I would hope that would happen to me. I think that as long as I have an eye on staying healthy then it's ok to gain whatever the baby needs.

I am 27 weeks and 2 days. Woo Hoo! I have gained 28 lbs. This is my 3rd baby and I know how to eat and gain! The doctor does not seem worried. I gained quiet a bit of weight with number 2 so I guess I'm doing ok. Just wish I could lose it as fast as it came on.

Different bodies, even with my first I lost 20lbs in the first few months so it was hard to gain back up for me. I had Hyperemisis with both so I figure thats why I havent gained too much. But my lil Claire is right on track says the OB/GYN so thats all that matters.

I'm 27 weeks and i've gained about 18 lbs. I went from 140-158..and i'm 5'9".

I can seem to keep my weight gain steady. i've had the stomach flu 3 times during pregnancy and just had my appendix out when i was 24 weeks. and can't seem to gain weight since! maybe a pound!

I have read (and experienced) that stretch marks happen for some women no matter WHAT you do. I was religious with my cocoa butter etc and I still got them from way down low to up above my belly button. It is all in your genes and how your skin's elasticity is! Good luck with preventing them and hopefully you have better luck than some of us preggo battle scarred mamas :)

I have gained 15 lbs so far im 5 1/2 months. I dont know if thats a bad or good thing. Im trying to figure out whats the best way to prevent stretch marks, if there is any please give me some advice i would love to know. Thanks
