my daughter has been on formula for a while now.

today i pourd one 3ounce bottle of water and another 7ounce to add 7scoops of formula to.

by mistake i put the 7 scoops of formula in the 3ounces of water. i only noticed once i fed her, as i thought she finishd her bottle very fast. so her bottle was 4ounces short on water..... i think she will get constapated now :S

has anyone else formula fed ther baby and messd up the amout of scoops/amount of water?

My son usually eats about 4 to 6 oz of formula and once I made a 4 ounce bottle of water so she could put 2 scoops of formula in it and she put 3 instead. It didn't hurt him but I am sure he was sick to his tummy.

My dr actually had me doubling the scoop per water ratio at one time to try to bulk my guy up so you should be fine so long as it's going through the nipple holes it's not to thick, just don't do it regularly since it will cause weight gain.

it depends where ur from as to how many scoops per oz of water, in uk it is 1 scoop per 1 oz of water. I shouldn't think 1 messed up feed will hurt the baby in anyway.

with my son i give him 4 scoops with 260 ml of water only beocz he has trouble with keeping it down so i water it down . the correct dose is 4 scoops @ 200ml , this works for him.

I would call your pediatrician. I believe ALL formula's are 1 scoop per 2 ounces of water! Just like giving too much water to a baby can have side affects, if you give too much formula, there can also be side affects! 7 scoops of formula would be for 14 ounces of water. Erin is right with the 3.5 scoops.

I dont know what formula you are using but 7 scoops shouldn't go in 7 oz of water, 3.5 scoops should. It's one scoop for every 2 oz of water.

Maybe you should try to give her some water to prevent the constipation? I wouldnt worry unless its a regular thing though. I'm pretty sure plenty of people have done this before!
