hi, i'm just wondering or should i be alarmed that my 9 month old ylac still can't crawl and doesn't even try to. My 1st child alexa at 9 months then can already walk and my ylac doesn't even crawl. Is it because he's body is heavy (he's 11 kls)? But he now tries to stand and take some little steps. Does this mean that he will walk first without learning how to crawl, is this posible?

Oliver is 91/2 months and just commando crawls, health visitor says he is probably content doing that so may never crawl in the usual way. All kids are different. My 2nd showed no signs of crawling then suddenly at 10 months he spots chocolate and was off, no stopping him.

My son just turned 9 months and he doesnt have ANY interest in crawling. My husband and I both went straight for walking when we were babies too.

Crawling isn't even listed on a lot of milestone charts because so many babies will skip it all together. So it is completely possible he will walk without crawling. I've read that as long as they show some interest in moving about (rolling, scooching, pulling up) it is totally fine!

My daughter is also 9 months and doesn't crawl. She just enjoys rolling around and pulling herself with her arms. Just try not to worry about it and don't compare your son to other babies because you'll probably end up putting to much pressure on him!

my son is 9 months old and is not crawling yet either, every time I put him on his tummy, he rolls over to his back and smiles! crazy kid, my daughter (6 yrs now) started walking at 10 months and didn't crawl for that long. he doesn't sit himself up either, he's just spoiled i think! lol not worried about it, all babies grow and do things at their own pace.

i am in the same boat. Baby is nine months and still not crawling, but when it comes to trying to walk, she is all for it! Just give your little one the encouragement that they need and let them do it on thier own time. Can't force them to move if they don't wan to . :)

My first child was really big at 9 months and did not even try crawling until 11 mo. Then she did not crawl but kinda did an army crawl thing for about a week. She was still pulling herself up on things and standing though. But a week after her first birthday she was walking. She basically skipped crawling. She is 7 years old now and has always been very bright and active. I would not worry, some kids just start out slower. Maybe it does have something to do with bigger babies...

Every baby is different! If your little guy is 9 months old and tries to stand and take little steps that is awesome for his age!! And you are right! some babies skip the crawling stage all together.

Sounds to me like your little one might decide to walk before crawling.
My daughter still isn't crawling either- she gets on all 4 and she rocks back and forth but she just won't go.
There is no worries every baby goes at their own pace

My daughter isn't crawling yet either. She has been getting up on all 4's and rocking since 5-6 months. But still won;t go. My boys were so active, I am not used to this laid back girl, lol My middle son was walking at this age. I dont think she will crawl til shes 1. lol

It is definitely possibly for a baby to walk without learning to crawl first. My niece didn't start crawling until she was about 11 months and started walking around 15 months. I have a 9 month old son and he just got his first tooth. (He has 2 now) but I kept hearing about all of these other little ones who started getting them at 6 months and so on. I was starting to wonder if he would ever get them. You really don't need to worry, just remember that every child does things at their own pace. Anyways, enough rambling, hope this helps.
