My son was born on may 29 and as of yet has notcut any teeth. I am getting increasingly worried about this and was just wondering if there are any mothers out there whose nine months old and don't have teeth yet.

My son will be 11 months on April 2. He now has 6 and a half teeth. The dentist says he has good strong teeth at his age. I was concerned at the time his first tooth cut through but all it is is having to take extra care of his teeth at an earlier age. his dentist says that even if his teeth didnt cut through yet at this time everything would have been just fine. The later the first teeth cut through the later he is likely to get cavities or any problems.

my daughter Marcella turned 10 months last Sunday and still no teeth yet, according to her Pediatrician - teeth may appear as early as 6 months or late till the 14th month.I am not worrying for I know it will appear in the right time. The later the teeth appears the stronger and better it will be. Hoping for my lil' princess to have her first teeth when she turned 1on May 28! Enjoy motherhood lessen your worries!

My daughter is 11 months and just started to cut her first bottom two teeth. The dr said that it is better when they come in later because they are protected longer from juices and formula. So no worries!!!

My son was born in May 23 and until last week had nothing, suddenly he had one, then the next day another. My friends little girls in 14 months and walking, running and talking but still no teeth, i was also told by the dr the later they come in the better/stronger teeth they are.... One day your little boy will smille and he will have teeth and you'll wonder where they came from so suddenly!

No worries, some kids don't start till 12 mos. The longer they are in there, the less you have to worry about brushing and tooth decay (until they come in that is). I would let him start exploring with an infant tooth brush though so he doesn't freak out when you have to start brushing after his first tooth comes in. Of course make sure you supervise him and don't let him crawl around or walk around with it.

My son was born May 11th and he still has no teeth. I just knew they were comin in months earlier but they never sprouted. I am still worried even though his dr. says the usual "all babies grow differently, he's just taking his time", but yet he's already 25lbs and has been walking for 3 months...

My nephew is the son of two dentists. He didn't cut his first tooth until 18 months! Give it time! They wasted all this money on xrays. Now he has a whole mouthful and he is only 2.5.

My son is 10 months old and has no teeth, but I swear he's been teething since he was two months old. Everyone keeps telling me that they're stronger if they come later, and his doctor says it's not a problem. I wouldn't worry unless they don't have them at a year.

my son was born june 2 and he has no teeth either. i have heard that the longer they take to come up, the healthier they will be. i have also heard it is hereditary. my mother in law says my hubby and his brother were both late teethers. so i dont think we have anything to worry about.

My son was born May 5th which makes him soon to be 11 months old. He has 4 teeth (2 center top and 2 center bottom). He has had the 2 bottom teeth for quite some time now and has had the top 2 for around 3 months or so.

Not to worry, my son is almost 11 months and he has no teeth either. He is cutting one or two in (I can see the bumps and the white top of one tooth), but it's taking a really long time. He already "bites" pretty hard with his gums, so I'm not looking forward to his actual teeth!

My daughter didn't cut her first tooth until she was 4 days from her first birthday and the doctors told us all along that there was no worries. She told us they don't even start to worry until the child is 18 months. Aleya's teeth all came in quickly after the first one (much quicker than my older boys) and teething wasn't as hard for her as it has been for my 10 month old, so that may be the bright side :-)

May 22 for us and still no sign of a tooth. Not as concerned about her not having teeth as I am that she started walking on the weekend - they just develop at their own pace, some things start earlier and some start later :-)

My son was born May 21st and no teeth to speak of yet. I have talked to numerous people, including his pediatrician and one of my best friends (who happens to be a dental hygenist). His doctor told me not to worry. He has seen several children who did not cut teeth until 13 to 15 months old. My friend, along with others I've spoken to, have all told me the longer the teeth are in the gums, the stronger their teeth tend to be. Less chance of cavities or other such problems.

My daughter did not cut a tooth until 13 months! We were slow teethers in my family, but it was still pretty late! She started having the red, swollen gums, crazy drooling, etc at 9 months, but it took 4 more months to actually get a tooth! She has not been the greatest teether. :) She will be 3 in April and still only has 2 of her 2-year molars! Her dentist says all babies/kids will teeth at their own time... :)

My eldest 2 girls were normal teethers at 5 and 6 months. My son , now 2 got his first tooth a week before he turned 1 and my nearly 11 month old son still has none. If he is anything like my 2 year old, they will just keep popping through once they start!

My daughter has 4 teeth already at 10 months (3rd may) but it sure is normal for some babies to take longer for their teeth to finally show, as i experienced with my Son (5yrs on the 9th) who started teething after 11 months

Hi Terra,
My little girl born 31 May and still is my little gummy girl. I'm not too worried as I know some babies cut their first teeth around 12 months or even longer. I have actually heard the longer it takes for teeth to come out the stronger they are. Maybe that might ease your anxiety for the time being.. : c )
