We’re on our third and have nursed all three exclusively but that didn’t stop “Aunt Flow.” My first I started at 8 weeks postpartum, with the second I started at 10 weeks, and with this one I had a very, very light one at 7 weeks. My midwife said I’m just very fetal. I wasn’t on any birth control until about 3 months with the first two and got IUDs with them. And I’m not on anything now… but will be SOON. And yes it does suck. Hope it helps. But if you’re worried about it call you Dr/nurse/midwife. And congrats on the babe!

Hey I know the feeling. With my first I didn't have a period for months but I still started the minipill 6 weeks pp. With my second, I feel like I never really stopped bleeding....But I got an IUD.

I'm new to the circle of moms and I gotta say, I'm already liking this. I was really concerned that my son is only 10 weeks old and I've already had my period twice (and that was after 5 weeks of post birth bleeding). One was right after starting the mini pill and the second was at the end of the set. It's nice to know that I'm not alone.

Im also breastfeeding and on the mini-pill and ive had two, two weeks apart and theyve been ten times worse than the ones I had before the baby. My baby is 9 weeks.

Me too. My daughter was born on the 21st and I blead for almost 6 weeks, had a brief break and now I'm on my period! We breast feed exclusively. With my son I didn't start back to periods for 6 months, but he was a c-section. Kinda sucks!

Yep, me too and it stinks! Bleeding for over 9 weeks is no fun for anyone! My doctor also said people's bodies react differently so there ya go!

My baby is seven weeks old and I'm almost positive that I've had a period. I went right from post-partum bleeding to bright red blood for about 4 or 5 days. I'm not on any birth control. I think it's more common to not get a period while breast-feeding or on bc but some women still get it. We're just the "lucky" ones I guess!

I was really bummed too when mine came back 6 weeks after having Colin, even though I was exclusively pumping (he wouldn't nurse). The mini-pill is also, according to my doctor, notorious about giving women irregular bleeding problems-I had to call and ask her about it because I'd had a month and a half long period (which turned into a two month one before it was over).

my bub is 7 weeks old as well and i am exclusive breastfeeding but have just started spotting I went and saw my gp and was told i was one of the unlucky people that will get them back even when I am breastfeeding. My bub has recently dropped a feed at night which I was told might have trggered the change.

Im 8 weeks today and I breast feed only, and mine is trying to start back up the past 3 days or so.. I had my 2 mth checkup today and my Dr said that everyone is different. He said he believes that my peroid is starting back up.. I never got and cramps or signs before I had my daugher and I didnt have any when it was starting back up.. everyones body is different. I also wasnt on BC before I got preg, and im not on them now either. but if your really concerned you should call your Dr, or his nurse and ask questions..

I also just started birth control for breastfeeding mothers and got my period. I read that it varies from person to person on when it returns so I was not concerned.

Keela, I'm having the same type of bleeding that you are too. I'm also breastfeeding but I'm not on any type of birth control. I had cramping when I first started breastfeeding but now not so much. But I also just had my postpregnancy checkup so maybe that's what caused mine to come back. Could that be the same for you too? If mine doesn't stop soon I'll be calling my doctor.

I didn't have a period until after I gave up breast feeding but I wasn't taking any form of the pill, maybe that was why?

I am on the mini pill and I know this is gross but the blood is red,so it cant be postpartum bleeding, right?

What kind of birth control are you using? From my past experience, I took a mini-pill while exclusively breastfeeding (6 months) and never had a period. Then, it wasn't until a few months after switching to a regular birth control pill (with hormones) that my period returned (about 9 months after my son was born). I don't think your period should start on a mini-pill (generally prescribed to nursing mothers)... Do you think it could just be more of your postpartum bleeding?!
