daughter is six months now. is starting to get too big for her moses basket so i moved her into her cot in her own bedroom three days ago.

she used to wake in the night but go back to sleep with no probs when in my room .

but now shes in her room every night for the past three nights she has needed a bottle to get back down to sleep.

i dont want to get her into bad bedtime habbits, i dont think she wants the bottle because of a growth spert but more for comfort.

will she just get used to it soon? what should i do? did i leave it too late to put her in her own room?

My little man has been sleeping in his own room since day one. I think your little one will get use to it, hopefully sooner than later :) When he wakes up to eat (which is usually just once a night) he eats and falls right asleep. Good luck!!

our dtr has been sleeping in her own room since day one, but around 5 months had a difficult time falling asleep. we found that giving her a shirt that either my husband or i had worn for a day or two (so it smelled like us) to hold helped her fall and stay asleep. we knotted it several times so she won't get tangled in it. this also helps when she takes naps at her other caregivers' homes as it's familiar to her.

we've had our little one in her own room in her crib since about 7 weeks, and it's been great. we have a video monitor...which though pricey, is the BEST invention!!! you can hear the baby and SEE the baby...so you dont have to run in there at all hours to check in!! i might recommend getting one of those to give yourself peace of mind while the little one is in her own room.

my daughter,Tallulah has been in her room since 7 weeks,, first few nights she was waking, but if you leave them or go in after a time and just stroke there face or tummy, they will eventually settle, now she has a bath, bottle, and i put her down awake, 9 times out of ten she sleeps for 12 hours, i would have loved to have her in with me till she was a year, but this is the one thing im glad i listened to my other half on, and its lovely in the morning when i can here her talking to herself on the monitor,,, good luck :)

My little man still sleeps in the co-sleeper in our room. We would LIKE to move him into my daughters room (shes 2), but he wakes up in the middle of the night on scheudle whining/crying. I then have gotten in the habit of sticking the paci in his mouth to keep him quiet in fear that he'll wake the 2 year old up. I think he's gonna be 10 and still sleeping in our room..... I don't know what else to do! I can't risk his 'loudness' waking up my daughter and unfortuatnly we only have 2 bedrooms. We're creating a habit we won't be able to break but I don't know what other options we have besides sticking him in the closet :) JK..

My son started sleeping in his own room before he turned two months. Your daughter will get used to it. Don't worry =) Try to give her a soother instead of her bottle. ^_^

my Matti went in his own room from 2 weeks coz of our cats. he has a monitor and its great. he sleeps better without US waking him and vice versa. if she wakes, pop in and in the dark, quietly shh her, if that doesnt work, pop in a dummy instead of a bottle and leave. it will comfort and then fall out when they nod back off. hope it helps xx

My daughter is still in my room BUT in her crib and has a bumper so she cant see me. She will sleep anywhere but I just cant get myself to let her sleep in her own room quit yet. She stayed the night for the first time with her grandmother and did fine being away from me and still slept all night. Your daughter will get used to it, just give it a few nights ( maybe a few weeks) It took my daughter awhile to learn to fall asleep without her pacifier and to fall alseep by herself, took about a week or so! Same as trying to get them to do the same thing. Also turn a fan on in her room or somthing, white noise is great. In my daughters room there is no fan or air purifier like we have in our room, so when I decide to transfer her into her own room we will put a fan & air purifier in there. They like the noise! Also, she doesnt like the light on the mobile but likes the sound to fall asleep! Just some things to think about! BUT she will eventually get used to it :) PROMISE!
