This is my daughter, Luella, after spaghetti. We had to take her outside to brush of the spaghetti before giving her a bath. What a mess!

Yes I agree that giving her the chance to practice with a spoon means a lot more messes. I have a 3 year old too, but as a first time mom, I was too nervous to let him practice and make a mess. I was still literally feeding him with a spoon when he turned 2 years old!! So, this time I'm determined to do things right and let her learn on her own... I think in the end it will actually be easier, just messier! :)

My daughter is pretty much a mess after EVERY meal....i know it can be a pain in the butt to clean, but its fun for them and i enjoy watching her make a mess because i know she's happy.... your going to have to get used to messes...i also have a 3 year old and cleaning up any type of mess is an everyday thing! Eventually your daughter will learn how to use a fork and spoon, but only if you are giving her the chance to practice, which includes a mess! Have fun and enjoy it while it last! =)
