Chloe was born May 29 and hasn't rolled purposely either. She has been sitting up since 4 months though and loves being on her belly. I wouldn't worry bout it. Coming from a Physical Therapist mama :) ALL babies develop differently. Try putting him on his belly on the boppy or other pillow - it's more comfortable for babies who don't like tummy time - then he'll soon figure out how to use the weight of his head to roll from belly to back in no time :) Give him a reason to reach for something. He'll get the hang of it. Sounds like you are doing the right thing lots of floor time which is what some make the mistake of not doing with all the jumpy/exersaucer contraptions we have now! Sometimes those 2cd/3rd borns are so entertained by the others running around they don't have a reason for wanting to move around too.

Chloe was born 13th May. She can crawl, hold her bottle, sit on her own, and say boo! She giggles all the time and babbles too. She is very bright....but she hasn't managed to learn to sleep through the night yet!! She loves to be standing up, I let her lean against the sofa so she can stand on her own and she gives me the biggest grin as if to say look how clever I am mummy!

My son was born on the 18th of May and he does everything yours does with the exception that he does roll over. More often than i'd like him too. He just started rolling about 2 weeks ago , so you can expect it any day and most likely when your not expecting it!

My son who was born on May 15th, just actually rolled for the 1st time 3 days ago. But he did love to sit up. An as far as laying on the floor goes, my son hates it to! I think every baby does. lol

My daughter is about 5.5 months.

She will not roll over, even though she is strong enough to do so.

She reaches for her toys and bangs them all around.

She holds her own bottle, most of the time. But she rarely drinks from a bottle. (breastfeeding)

She smiles all the time, but can't get a laugh out.

She is a total mama's girl. But she can't quite say "mama" yet, she just mouths it.

I think that's about it. :)

congrats on your baby! My Emily was born the same day (31st May) and she rolled over about a month ago, now rolls everywhere, is crawling a little and tries to sit up and stand. Also is starting to eat and laughs and babbles a lot. Every baby is different, just keep encouraging him, it also depends on their personality, some babies are content with doing it in their own time, Emily is very determined and wants to do everything, play with everything and put everything in her mouth. She's going to be a hypo child! Also some children are more interested in different aspects of development, some visual and some verbal and some physical. The only time I would mention it to the health nurse is if he isn't doing anything, which he is! Sitting up is good! Emily likes to be up looking at everything rather than on the floor too.

My Grace was born 18th May. she is rolling over back to front and front to back. she cannot crawl but sort of wriggles to move herself forward pushing with her feet. she sleeps 12 hours through the night. she will hold hr bottle for a little while til she gets bored. she sits in a baby walker and does walking motions to move it. she isn't quite sitting up on her own yet. shes too interested in her feet and leans forward to get at them all the time! she recognises her name and will respond to certain things such as if i say "are we going to grandmas?" or "daddys home" she will frantically kick her feet and wave her arms. she can also take out, turn around and put back in her own dummy xx

My baby was also born on may 8. she rolled over at 10 weeks, she now stands holding on to things by herself. also attempts to crawl. she can scoot around by pushing with her feet. but you know, she's an only child. she gets ALL the attention so we work with her on things. a third child isn't getting as much attention naturally so they may be doing a little less. also, some babies are just more independent than others. as long as he's holding his head up and doing the basics i'd say he's probably just fine!

shes nearly crawling, she gets up on her knees and hands and just jolts back and forwards. shes still unsure about how to move the arms and legs to get going lol.
she can hold her own bottle (when she can be botherd, shes a lazy feeder lol)
she also knows her name, pulls out her dummy and pops it back in again. sleeps 9ish untill 7 or 8 in the morning. if she drops things she will reach for them and grab them. she has also become very interested in our dog and wont leave him alone. but its ok because the dog loves her and is always cuddling up with her :)

My little one was born on May 25th and has never needed his neck supported. By 5wks he was pulling himself to stand up when you held him, by 3months he could roll over and wriggle upward and downwards. He's 5months now and can sit up by himself, as long as he sits still, otherwise he loses balance and falls over. I have seen him go from lying to sitting up a few times but he doesn't do it regularly yet. He has never slept thru the night and feeds every 2 to 3 hours still! He says four words now: Mum, Dada, Mary (which is my sisters name) and up! He is very commanding and will put him arms above his head and shout until you pick him up, and if he is hungry he will pull my t-shirt down and start nuzzling around my chest. I think his next word might be boob LOL

My little man was born april 30th and he doesnt sleep thru the night despite trying to settle without feeds but can scream the house down for a good couple of hours till fed. But he was crawling at 4.5mths, rolling both ways by 3mths I cant keep up . Maybe this is the payoff the more they feed the more they do. I wish he would slow down and sleep thru.

My son was born on May 5th. He rolls from tummy to back. He doesnt like to be on his tummy. He will sit if he has to but loves to be on the move so in other words, he prefers for me or someone else let him stand and strengthen his little legs while he holds on. If there is something he sees that he wants he even takes a few steps on his on till his legs give out, then he pulls himself back up and starts over. He's babbling mostly but when he's angry that I took too long to get his food or bottle ready he knows how to say Mama and he uses it. He is sleeping through the night, he has the name recognition down, in the last three weeks or so he's started realizing he has a sense of touch and has the need to touch everything. He's fascinated with my two dogs, even it one of them on the nose yesterday, that was hysterical. He is a very happy baby, loves to smile, loves to laugh, loves to play with his toys, loves to hear mama sing

My little girl was born on the 25th of May, she is rolling over from back to tummy and tummy to back. She not yet crawling but trying very hard, she goes around in a circle..so cue to watch. She is sitting up but still need me as her balance isn't quite there yet. Loves playing with toys....Laughs all the time and is a real little chatter and always has a smile on her face.
Maybe if you put a toy at his side he'll want it so bad that him try and get it and roll over. Remember each child is an indivigual and will learn at own pace. All in his own time....

Mya was born May 22, 2009. She rolls all the time from back to belly, but not so much from belly to back. She doesn't like it on her belly !! She laughs a lot, loves the tub, loves her thumb. She is eating baby cereal and fruits and veggys. She is a very good sleeper, last night she slept from 630pm-830am !! :) I have weaned her from breastmilk, and she is now having formula ! :)

Stella was born on May 23rd and she rolls over only when she's completely bored. Anything she can get her hands on goes directly into her mouth. She kept pulling out her hair and seemed to be enjoying it and I was getting a little frustrated because a handful of her hair would be pulled out and end up going into her mouth. So when putting hats on her head did not work we shaved her head.

My little girl (also born on the 31st) can sometime roll over from tummy to back but it's very random plus she also doesn't really like to lay on the floor and loves to sit with us. She can sit in her bumbo seat by herself, stand/dance if you hold her hands, does baby push-ups, babbles/giggles, looks around, looks when you talk to her, reaches and grab somethings, she's great at jumping in her jolly jumper and sleeps through the night (roughly 11pm-8am). If she does lay on the floor she prefers her back and she can do a squiggle crawl thing when she's on her tummy.

She is begining to hold her bottle and chatters all the time. She tries to sit up but can't do that yet because she is too busy trying to eat her feet.

[deleted account]

my daughter was born may 16th. she is pushing herself up on her arms when she's on her tummy. she is starting to make crawiling motions and does move forward a little. she can also sit for a little while in my lap unassisted. she turns her head to wherever a noise is, especially if she hears her daddy! she is getting really good at making a "b" sound. she rolls over on her side, but is content to lay there and not roll over. she only rolls over every once in a while. i know she can do it because she has in the past moved from one end of her large blanket to the other!

Padraic was born May 8 and he can roll from tummy to back and back to tummy. He just started sitting up straight by himself and he's trying to crawl but can't quite figure out how to move his arms and legs at the same time.He holds his bottle, too, and giggles and "talks" to me. He thinks he can grab and pick up everything, even pillows and the cat.

Shes tries to crawl, she recognises her name, she falls asleep on her own for naps and at night, she eats baby cookies by herself and will SOMETIMES for short period of time hold her bottle.

He has figured out how to pull his paci out and put it back in after playing with it. He can hold his bottle by himself for short times and is sleeping all night.(7:30p-6a).

well my second little girl was born on May 11th, she is rolling over every where, starting to try and crawl, she holds her own bottle and sits up real good, and only wants to be held when she wants to go to sleep. I don't know what is going on with that girl but as her father calls her she is a little monster!!!
