I've heard that if you gently massage the gums it will help them break through easy when it comes time. Until then I say gnaw away and hope for no pain. :)

I've heard a frozen bagel but I worry about the choking hazard. We've been using the teething rings, oragel, and cold washcloths. Teething tabs don't seem to work for me. Wish they did though

My boy has 2 teeth now! He turned 5 months old on the 15th! :)
Hes been so cranky, we give him teething tablets sometimes which seem to help.
I also just get a wash cloth wet...just half of it and freeze it so he can hold onto the un frozen part and suck on the cold. I heard you can give him tylenol but i haven't tried that yet. BABY tylenol, of course :)

My son is 5 months and he now has the 2 bottom teeth. My mother recommended that I go to a local pharmacy and get him Dr. Humphrey's teething tablets. They work wonders on him. It doesn't make him sleepy or anything and it is all natural. I think that he is starting to cut the 2 top teeth as well. I have also heard about freezing a baby cloth soaked in juice. Also, one of my friends told me that you could also try freezing a green onion and letting them suck on that or freezing a carrot. but be careful not to let them bite it...so it doesn't break off and choke them. You should definately try the teething pellets or tablets...

Quoting Line:

My cousin is a nurse and he said that oragel tends to harden the gums so it's harder for the tooth to pierce trough. He recomended to me using a clean baby cloth soaked in baby apple juice and freeze it. The cold will help with the pain and the sweetness will help him forget about it.

My little girl also drools continuously, bites everything within range (including my nose!) and sucks her fingers. Are these signs that she is teething or are these common actions in a 4 1/2 month old??

I give my son Hyland's teething tablets and almost immediately he stops drooling and gnawing on his hands!

I wouldn't use any medication unless baby is in pain. Dribbles and chewing everything they can get their hands on is normal it's just how they learn about the world. Mine just got her first tooth and she does the same it isn't bothering her so I just change her bib every half hour to keep her dry and make sure she has things to chew on.
