Saline nasal spray and rub vicks on your babies feet before bed! You can use adult strength vicks on their feet only. Use baby vicks for the chest!

I use a vaporizer in my son's bedroom at night - it really helps to keep his nose unblocked. So he breathes easier and therefore sleeps better! I also use baby Vicks, but that only works for short periods of time.

Definitely no medicine! My son is just getting over one now, and what worked were baby saline nasal drop a few times a day. We would remove mucus with the round bulb we got at the hospital when he was born, and also we put a humidifier in his room at night to help him decongest. Basically, let it run its course but keep a watch for fever developing later because that could be a sign of something else coming, A mild fever at the beginning is normal though. The cold and cough only will go away on its own.

I had used a wedge for sleeping, and during the day I used baby vapor rub, and the vaporizer. This helped a lot. If the congestion was really bad, we sat in the bathroom with the shower running hot water for steam for about 20 minutes. I also used a nose sucker thing to get out all of the yucky stuff. Hope your little one feels better soon! It is so sad to see them sick :(

MY DAUGHTERS DOCTOR DOESN'T ADVISE VICK OR ANYTHING PETROLEUM BASED BECAUSE KIDS CAN ABSORB THE TOXINS EASILY. WE USE A HUMIDITIER WITH SOME LIQUID UN-MEDICATED OILS AND ELEVATE HER HEAD WHEN SHE SLEEPS. ALSO SOME PEDIALYTE TO PREVENT DEHYDRATION IF SHES RUNNING A FEVER OR NOSE IS REALLY RUNNY. YOU CAN EVEN MIX THE UN-FLAVORED PEDIALYTE WITH CEREAL.

All good advice. We elevated the end of my daughter's crib, used the "Little Noses" (or saline drops), and let her hang out in the bathroom when we took our morning showers when she had a cold about a month ago.
