My daughter already scoots and knows how to turn herself around in a circle and sometimes she army crawls. I didnt have to do anything. She has a lot of tummy time and sits in her jumperoo or exersaucer and loves it. When her daddy and I are working her uncle watches her and he does a lot of tummy time and helps get her stronger.

Remember, when they start crawling it's go-go-go from there on out. I kind of like the stage we're in. I like knowing that where I put my son down is pretty much where he's going to stay.

I know how you feel, my daughter is 4 months old and I want to help her learn to crawl. She rolls on to her tummy constantly and then gets frustrated because she can't get anywhere. She watches our cats running around and wants to follow them, it's actually kind of cute when she tries to throw herself after the cats. Anyway, I've found that if I put my hands behind her feet she can use them to push herself forward, it seems to keep her happy. Good luck

Most babies don't start crawling till they reach 6 months. They will learn to crawl, then pull themselves up, then walk, then run (all within 6months to 14 months)....trust me.....your baby will crawl. But, enjoy it for what little time it lasts. Before you know it, you'll be chasing them down in grocery stores! Ha!

why would you want to encourage him to start crawling? believe me...this is my 3rd...let him do it on his own. when he does he will. you can do as the others said but what's the hurry...just more work for you.

He's too young to be crawling. It's best to just continue to let him play on his tummy and when he's big enough he'll get it. Putting the toys in front and just out of reach, like Lauren said, will encourage him to reach and stretch.

My daughter is 4 and a half months old and she is rolling around now. To encourage her to crawl I put her toys out of reach infront of her so she can still see them. It doesn't have to be a toy, if your son is anything like my daughter she will be happy to try and get anything...even her dads playstation controls! She is learning to move forward ever so slightly to get them. It does take about 10mins for her to move about 1cm but she will get there in the end! Good luck
