So i am now past the 30 week mark and i am still not even close to being ready for this baby. I mean we have bought some stuff, but have none of it put together or set up. The baby room is still full of crap from the other rooms that are being renovated so i cant even start on it. We have just changed our tiny bathroom into a laundry room and taken one of our bedroom and turned it into a bathroom ... its awsome, was alot of work but is starting to come together nicely now and i am very excited about it. However i am pretty dam sure it has increased my stress levels and now i am starting to panic a little as i have nothing ready for this baby. I work full time so i am shattered when i get home and only have enough energy to make supper and do a clean up and get my son to bed. Then on the weekends there never seems enough time to get anything really productive done. Am i worrying for no reason? Or should i be a little concerned that i am not ready yet?

How is everyone else doing in being prepared for their baby's arrival? Are you all prepared? Or are you guys just as unprepared as me? I just wanted to start a new topic and let you know what stresses me out at the moment lol .... be free to share whatever you want. Thanks!!

Ugh, you're not kidding. I only have 4 weeks to go until the due date and it's still surprising to me that I'm about to have a kid. I'm not sure how I'm going to manage this change of life. I don't feel prepared or ready at all.

The days keep growing closer and all I can do is worry. No good at all!

I am now 34 weeks and still not really any closer lol, i have at least emptied the baby room and got it painted, but still nothing is together and is still all in the boxes. I have none of the little stuff that i need and i am starting to panic as well. Luckily it is tax rebate time and i have some money put aside to buy some things. This is my last week of work and i plan on getting my butt into gear and get things ready when i am finally gonna be home for more than two minutes lol. I just want the nesting phase to kick in but it just does not seem to be happening. I really really need to get my house in order and all cleaned but i just dont have the energy. Now my husband is gone for his new job for 10 days at a time and i am stuggiling with that at the moment so maybe that is why i am not motivated to get it done.
I am sure that we will all go on power kicks soon and get everything ready and organized and i mean if we dont then it is not the end of the world and the babys will still be taken care of, it may just be a little more stressful lol. dont worry there are lots of us in the same boat and we will get it done sooner or later. Good luck everyone!

I'm almost 30 weeks and baby's room doesn't even have a floor yet - literally!

My fiance and I started renovating the upstairs last summer, and then when I got pregnant in late summer/early fall, I had the worst morning sickness, so I wasn't able to do much of anything. Well, my morning sickness is gone, but I can't walk upstairs anymore and haven't been able to do anything. And my fiance works full time and has a part time job, so he's always tired. Plus he has severe allergies that prevent him from being upstairs in a construction zone for any length of time.

We have a crib and clothes for baby but nothing's set up yet. The clothes are in a plastic bin and the crib still in its box.

I'm seriously starting to panic!!!

So this weekend i got ALOT accomplished. We got our new bathroom totally finished, all the tiles are up and grouted, the flooring is down and everything is now clean and functioning, i just need to get a boader to finish off the look in their. Also the laundry room is now all sanded and has the first coat of paint on, hoping to get some more coats done this week, if i am not to exhausted after work. The baby room is cleaned out and painted!!! All i need to do know is take all of the furniture out of the boxes and get it put together, so i am hoping to work on that this week as well. I feel really great about all the stuff that got done this weekend and just wanted to share. I feel like i am getting slightly more prepared at this point, so at least i am moving foward!!!

I'm 32 weeks now and I'm about half ready. I still have all the nursery furniture from my older son who's 2 1/2 but I also realized going through all of his stuff how little newborn clothes I have now. My son was a big puker so most of his stuff from 0-6 months was majorly stained. My baby shower is at the end of the month so I've resisted buying anything new yet....my husband has had to make me hold back from trying to buy stuff. It's hard to even get into the nursery right now because all our bedrooms are upstairs so making the trip isn't easy especially with the 2 year old at my heels. You aren't the only one feeling ill prepared but have confidence that you will get at least the most important stuff done when you can! Good luck!

You are fine. With my first prego (my daughter is now 2 1/2) I was in the navy, & my husband was deployed. Therefore we weren't even able to get the big stuff like the crib, dresser etc until he got home which was only 3 days before I gave birth! This time around I am currently 29 weeks & we have all the big stuff & the nursery ready but we are having a boy this time & I still haven't gotten any clothes or boy related stuff yet. We also need to put together a different room still for my daughter to move into since she is currently in the room the baby will go in.

Thanks for the advice, i am know starting to panic ... my hubby just got a new job (YAY, one that pays way better) but one that means he will be away for long periods at a time so its gonna be tough. I am done work at the end of the month and then should have about 4 weeks to get organized before baby comes so that is my goal for now. I am slowly doing some extra cleaning in the evenings after work but am finding it very tireing. I am going away for a few days at the end of the month to the states to do some shopping (i live in canada) and they baby stuff is way cheaper in the states so thats when i plan on finishing/starting most of the shopping i have left. I know i am going to be ok and get it done, i just like to worry and stress about things.

lol...i have the opposite problem!
my baby's room has been setup for months now and im starting to wonder what im gonna do all day when im 34 weeks and done work (i have a physically challaging job so doc said its best to take some time off) im not the type to sit around but nor am i the type to do things twice (ie: wash clean baby clothes again) as for the nesting phase, itll happen when it happens, but hopefully before baby's born! My advice is to just get started. Clean out the room, drag the baby stuff in and just set up one peice at a time. Monks used to say that a journey begins with the first step. Good luck with your endevours!

Well i am glad that i am not the only one. I do have a crib and change table and that sort of stuff, althou it is all still in the boxes and has not been put together yet ... thats what i am worrying about it think. My house is a disaster and i just feel behind on everything. However i have finally decided that i am going to be done work in 4 weeks. I think i deserve a little time off to spend with my son and get my lift in order before i have this baby. I will be 34 1/2 weeks when i am officially done work and have been given some stick already for finishing so early. But i dont really care, i plan on getting things ready and prepared and i hope to god that the nesting phase kicks in by then and hopefully i will be a non stop organizing machine lol.

Thanks for sharing your story as well, i to am sure that we will get things done its the just getting things started that i am worried about. Once i start i am sure it will all be good from there so here to hoping we get our butts in gear soon lol.

I am also 30 weeks today and not ready for the baby. I do not work but I stay home with my 4 yr old and 2 1/2 yr old. I have the crib set up but that's about it. We too are redoing one of our bathrooms (glad we didn't decide to do both because it would have never happened). I have lost almost all motivation to anything, even clean. I am extremely tired and starting to get uncomfortable. I am stressing out the most about who is going to take care of my other 2 kids while I am in the hospital. My mom was supposed to, but she is now watching my sisters 2 kids 5 days a week. I may have to have a c-section which means I will be down for a couple of weeks and my husband has to work. We have no other family close by so I don't know what is going to happen. I'm sure it will all work out, but the anticipation is starting to get to me.

I'm sure we will get everything done in time. I keep telling myself that the nesting will kick in (sometime soon I hope) and things will be in place before our little ones arrive.

Good Luck
