omg the same thing just happened to me yestertday thankfully she came around but it was definitely very scary. my thinking is that it is just toooo much vaccines in one day for an eight week old baby.... from what i can see most are not needed this soon, im definitely going to do my research and maybe hold off on some of the vaccines when i take her back at 4 months.

Its normal. My baby got 100.7 F fever when he got his first doses and it stayed for almost 2 days, but he got no fever in his second dose. My Dr. said its good to have fever as it shows body's immune system is fighting. Son don't worry, he will be alright! take care...:)

My son has not gotten any vaccines, he's almost four months. hard to believe he'd be getting his second dose of 5 vaccines, hardly seems right! He has the best pediatritian always very helpful and honest, and he said most of the vaccinations he doesn't care about! i've done tons and tons of research online. Some of it is biased no doubt, but I definitely don't like what i read.

Yes! It's normal - not nice, but normal :) So long as his temperature doesn't spike, he'll be just fine.

My daughter slept so much after her shots that day. I would say the majority of the evening after she received her shots she was sleeping soundly. We also gave her tylenol to keep the fever away. Hope this helps!

My little guy had his 2 month vaccines on the 19th. Everything was going great until about 3 hours after. We were at home and Monte was starting to get a little fussy like he usually does before he needs to nap. I took him to his room, dimmed the lights, and tried to settle him. He usually crashes in about 1 min...so after about 5 min of not falling asleep I thought I'd check his dipe. I laid him down on the changing table and flicked the lights back on. In 10 second, he literally went from normal to pale white with a gray/blue undertone, completely lethargic/weak. and his eyes were totally glazed over. I tried to stimulate him and he was not responding to me at all (he is usually sooo expressive!). His breathing was very slow and very shallow. I scooped him up and called 911 :( He was taken by ambulance to our ER and after about 40 minutes he came around. They ran a bunch of tests and said it was probably a reaction to hi vaccines. After his follow up appt the next day at his pediatrician, we decided to hold off on all vaccines until he was 2 years old. After talking and reading more up on vaccines, there is no reason that babies need to get all of the vaccines so soon (and so many at one time!). There is no harm in waiting until your babies nervous system is matured to have your kid vaccinated. I am still all for having my little guy vaccinated and think they are important, but just not as a tiny baby. I know reactions to vaccines are rare, but they DO happen. It was the SCARIEST night of my life to see my little guy like that. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone of you. Just remember that you as a parent have the right to refuse vaccines until thy are older!

Mine was sleepy too I think it was the Tylenol... I am bfing so I nursed him WHILE they gave his shots and he only let out 2-3 little cries each time I highly recommend this approach, would probably work with a bottle too just time it so they're hungry :)

My daughter had her two month shots on Friday and is just now getting back to her happy self. She was extremely crabby all day on Friday and even most of Saturday. We just gave her Tylenol and let her sleep.

I hate it when they have to get shots when they are so little because there is no way to prepare them. I got a little teary-eyed too.

Megan, It's funny that your son is named Logan too. I always thought Logan was a unique name that you don't hear very often. But, I'm finding out that it's more common than I thought. My husband named him Logan from the character Wolverine in Xmen.

Our Logan just got his shots and yes he was sleepy and a little extra fussy! His legs also got swollen. Just keep up on the tylenol and s/he should be fine!

My son just had his 2 month shots 3 hours ago. No fever yet, but he seems to be a little more fussier than usual. Does anyone know what kind of shots are given?

My daughter had her shots this morning. and has literally been sleeping ALL day. (Maybe a wake for a total of 2 hours). When she's awake she cries. Its heart breaking, especially since I can tell in her cry that shes uncomfortable. :( But it is normal

Yes my baby girl got her 2 month shots yesterday (july 12th) and she was sleepy, fussy, and ran a fever all night. We consoled her and i breastfed her,(as her appitite wasn't diminished) and gave her infant acideminifen every couple hours to keep fever & pain at bay. She's fine this morning. Still a bit sore in her thighs, but she's doing better. She's been smiling & laughed a bit earlier when awake..but now she's napping. I'm sure your lil one will be fine. All this is normal

My son had his shots last week & I've noticed a change in him ever since. He cries a lot more, I've given him the generic version of Children's Tylenol due to the recall on Tylenol infant medications. He used to sleep during the night for at least 5 or 6 hours but now we're back to the getting up every 2hrs routine. He is not running a fever but I notice at times his head does feel a lot warmer than the rest of his body. He is also spitting up a lot more than usual, even hours later after he's eaten. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get my baby to sleep again at night?

Took my son yesterday for his shots, I just hate taking him.Doc told me to give him infant paracetol every 4 hours(2.5ml) regardless of whether he is showing signs.I gave one dose and he threw it up. I didn't give anymore as I don't agree with giving a baby medicine if not needed.I noticed he was sick after his feeds a few times and was more tacky than feverish but he seems ok just a little more demanding and wants cuddles. its awful cos although he is my 2nd baby I still find myself paranoid incase he has a reaction.

My daughter had her 2 months shots on Tuesday the 6th. She is better now. She was fine until 4 hrs after the shots. I didn't give her any tylenol until then. She was SCREAMING, I have never heard her scream like this before. I felt horrible. So I gave her some tylenol. It took a good 20-25 min to get her to calm down. Nursing her wouldnt even help. She finally fell asleep and would only wake to eat and then go back to sleep she was like that the day after the shots too. She also ran a fever but not too high. Now she is back to normal, no fever, no crying and playing.

I was just wondering if my baby's sleepiness today could be related to her shots received earlier in the day. We only did the DTaP and HIB today. Thanks for posting the question!

I took my little one for his shots yesterday. The Dr told me to wait until after the shots to give him the medicine. He was fussy and slept most of the day. He did have a fever in the middle of the night but he seems to be feeling much better this morning!!

My baby is scheduled to have his on tuesday but the doctor gave me a paper at his last appointment to let me know how he might be after the shots and being sleepy is a normal response to getting shots
