Flu Shot

My daughter had her flu shot on Tuesday (it is now Friday) and it was the worst! She had a fever for 24 hours and it got as high as 103!! It was crazy and that was only HALF... I have to take her back next month for the remainder of the shot. I'm praying that she doesn't have another bad reaction.

My son's doctor is administering the flu shot in 2 visits. Eli has had his first shot and the reaction he had was sinus inflammation. Other than that reaction he was perfectly healthy. Good luck with your little one.

I decided not to give my son(6 months) or daughter(20 months) a flu shot. Me nor my husband have ever gotten them, and we are perfectly fine without them. Both of us really only get colds as far as we both remember, so we think the shot is totally not needed.

My Doc did not reccomend that my son have it done, as your not suppose to give infants egg products prior to a year and flu shots contain eggs. its an allergy thing. happy to hear that those who have gotten it have had good results

I wasn't going to get my son the flu shot and my PED said that was fine since he isn't in daycare. But then I thought about the fact that I babysit my school aged niece and her school is small so she always has something. She has had strep 3-4 times since August because it keeps going around. I'd rather be safe than sorry. So far, no reactions... he had it this morning with the rest of his shots. And his shot is in two parts as well.



*He got his shots around noon and was cranky until around 4pm. Then he was fine.

I dont plan on giving my son a flu shot. I have never had one and been fine I didnt get the H1N1 shot ethier. My hubby has had a flu shots when he was younger and always got really sick after so he doesnt get them ethier.

Cailee got her shot a week ago. No fever, nothing. Did great. Gets her second one in a month. good luck!

not planning on getting one. i don't think i've ever had a flu shot, even as a baby and i've been just fine. i actually have a great immune system (my mom breastfed for 2 years) so we are following the same with my baby.

I got my daughter the swine flu jab last year and she had just turned 6 months when they were released. She had no reaction and it gave me great peace of mind knowing she was protected. :) My youngest is now coming up to 6 months and i am planning on contacting my local GP to arrange for her to have it too. I think it's better to be safe than sorry :)

My son just got his flu shot at about 6 months 1 week! He was perfectly fine, no fever or anything! And, they even gave him a shot when he had a small cold. :/ They said I need to come back in 28 days to give him the second dose of it!

My son just got his flu shot yesterday at his 6 month Check up and is doing just fine no fever or anything, but i had a friend whos little girl woke up at 2 am crying with a fever after she got hers but it also only lasted a short time and broke by the next day. So i guess it really depends on the child.

My son will get his today with his 6 month shots so I will let you know how he does, although by then your son will have his too. I had the regular flu shot and the H1N1 shot when I was pregnant and I didn't have any complications during the pregnancy or after he was born, but that's probably totally different anyway.

The doctor gave my daughter her flu shot at her six month check up last week. I'm not sure if every Dr.'s office does this, but they are doing her flu shot in two visits. She had a fever of 100 degrees that night, but it broke by morning and she was fine.

Ian had his first flu shot and so far so good. I would just make sure the flu shot is preservative free.
