Is anybody else losing much hair?

Yes! I didn't think much of it till you mentioned it! And I have really thin, fine hair anyway! I find it all over the floor so I vacuum, Then within 2 minutes, my son has more in his hands from rolling around on the floor!!

My hair dresser told me that we do not lose our usual hair while pregnant and that means that after baby comes we start shedding BIG time!! Or are we just pulling our hair out with sleep deprivation and stress!!!

My hair drops like nobody's business. It gets me worried at times. I wonder when will this stop... Sigh!

there is no way to stop it. everything you gained while pregnant is falling out. Give it a month or so and it will stop. It just sucks until then.

Mine just started falling out everywhere this week. The baby book says that natural though and eventually it stops. Some kind of hormone thing or something.

Im so glad its not just me. I read that you loose your hair after baby but after 3 months nothing had happened until my girl was about 3 and a half months old then came the hair loss. Hand fulls at a time. It was scary I would keep brushing an it kept coming out. Didnt last long was all over within a week. An you dont really notice anyway

I am not loosing any hair however my hair dresser says it is very common for women to loose their hair during and after pregnancy due to hormones. Dont stress it is normal.

Yes I am!! I pull out so much everytime i clean the brush after using it. so depressing.. I knew it was gonna happen, but still, it sucks!

I'm loosing hair as well. This is my third child and it's happened after every birth. My first was the worst. I had a receding hairline and everything.. I was devestated, but as soon as it was gone it started growing back. Thank God!

Ahh I thought I was the only one sheding hair lol my hubby gets mad at me when he finds hair on the pillows or were the baby plays...I tell him Ima cutt it all off if he keeps complaining and I'm trying my best for my son not to get ahold of it in his hands...

I am shedding too, there is hair EVERYWHERE at my house and it's all mine. When I vacuum, I feel like we own a dog or something ...

Everyone is right, we will lose hair to get back to normal. I can remember after my daughter it was so bad the bathroom floor looked horrible and it lasted what seemed like forever!!!!

I am so very thankful for this circle of moms site. Im a first time mom and so many of my worries have benn answered and I find I am truly not the only one experiencing things. The hair loss was one I was sure I was alone in. However I guess Im not. I constantly find one of my hairs wrapped around my sons fingers and even after scrubbing out the tub every night befor his bath i find hair in the tub. cant wait for this to pass. I think im shedding more then my two dogs combined! LOL!!!!

Hey,
I thought i was the only one. I hate washing my hair now to because i lose even more. There is hair every where I turn. I have thick hair to but its very annoying.
I read that it should stop at 6 to 12 months after having your baby. Good Luck. I dont have any tips but your not alone.

YES!! I did have very thick hair before my kids but with this pregnancy for some reason its all falling out! I googled it and they said it was normal but its getting to the point where I can see my scalp through my hair. I feel like if I lose anymore I'm going to need some rogain!!

Before I was pregnant I would shed a lot of hair and that pretty much stopped while I was pregnant, which I liked! Now it's starting to shed again....sucks! I just hope it doesn't get too thin!!!

i have been loosing a lot too, but like you i have a lot of hair, but it is still not fun. someone told me to brush my hair a lot, like in the morning when getting ready and before you go to bed. it gets a lot of hair out in one spot and the person who told me this said something about stimulating your scalp, and slows down the loss..?? but so far it does seems to be helping.......... :)

Haha, great ! yes I was starting to get worried;but I also have a nice hjead of hair. I went to the hairdressers yuesterday and discussed with my stylist.. this is all ok.. don't be worried!! Strat worrying when you see bald patches. Lucky us :-)

YES!!! I talked with my Dr. about this and it is totaly normal (I thought that i was going to go bald in weeks!!) It is just your body adjusting back to "normal" and the hormones. she suggested to not brush my hair if I didn't absoutely need to.

my baby is 15 weeks and i am losing so much hair, was in the shower last night and was coming out ended up with a hand full! its everywhere its so annoying!! have thick hair also so not noticable!! not sure y its happening but dont want to lose any more!!

I have just had my third child and my hair is falling out too like the other two last pregnancies... As far as I am aware it's you body's way of getting back to normal, it's nothing to worry about.

I am also losing a TON of hair... several fist fulls a day... This is my second child and it was not nearly as bad after my first daughter... I also got the Mirena IUD and hair loss is one of the side effects... so my hair loss has now multiplied... i normally have very thick hair so I am not that worried but my hairline where I normally would have thin "baby hairs" is where you can see a difference... It looks like i have bald spots right by my temples... its so embarrassing... i dont know what to do about it... the worst part is i cant even where my hair down to hide it because i am losing so much hair... i cant cook or anything... I have to check my daughters little fingers and toes and her neck crease for stray hairs... and i sweep and vacuum like a million times a day... its so frustrating... the only thing i can think to do it trim my hair because that might stop some of it...

Yes, the hair loss has started this week! I notice it the most after a shower, and my hair is dark so it seems to show up even more! This happened with my first son (who is now 4) so I know this phase will pass with son no.2! Took about 4 months last time and it is due to you retaining your hair whilst pregnant and then shedding the 'extra' hair when your hormones start to return to normal. Why does one of the hairs always end up in your babies fingers though?! x

I was just thinking about asking this question!! I am losing so much :( I'm a hairstylist and I'm jealous of all of my clients with thick full heads of hair. I never had thick hair to begin with but now I can see scalp along my hair line. I don't notice it actually falling out tho?? You're not alone! i read that between 6-12 mo our hair will be normal again. Good luck!

I'm loosing tons of hair but from what I've read it's normal for after having a baby. During pregnancy we didn't shred as much and now we're loosing what we would have during our pregnancy.

im loosing my hair too, everytime i pick up my little girl she has a hair in her hand, its getting everywhere, im gonna treat myself to a hair cut i think to hide the fact my hair is much thinner

During your pregnancy, you retained a ton of hair. Makes it look all full and beautiful. Now after your hormones are starting to level out a bit, your hair will start to shed out. It is going to seem like you are about to go bald, but you won't lose anymore then you can afford to. That is what my doc told me.
