rectal prolapse

anyone else experience rectal prolapse? my baby girl just turned 6 months and experienced it for the first time and the doctor says its okay but shes had problems with constipation since I started itroducing solids. Doc says its not the food and wants to keep my baby on miralax for sometime. Has anyone else had this problem? Please Help?

Hi my daughter suffered rectal proplases constantly for months. We tried resoralax, diet changes, aloe vera juice etc......eventually the prolapse needed to be fixed surgically (injections into her rectal lining to cause swelling. It was a very simple procedure (terrifying still) but it worked. I hope they have taught you how to decrease it as the longer it is out the more it swells and then tissue can start dying. It is very scary and I hope your daughter gets better. Let me know if I can help in any way ♥

I dont have experience with rectal prolapse but my son was on Miralax from 2-5 months old. At that time I read some bad things about giving Miralax to infants (google miralax and kids particularly there's a yahoo group with a wealth of info IF your interested). I'm not trying to worry you because I'm sure your daughter is fine, as my son is, it was just something I decided was bad for him. I started giving him probiotics (Natren Life Start) and he goes twice/day now! Also I have heard for more severe issues when probiotics doesn't work, people have used a product called Natural Calm because of the magnesium in it and also Milk of Magnesia. Sorry I can't help with the prolapse but I hope something else here can help you and your LO.
