thanks ladies..yea..no rush on the bottle and with all the milk in the freezer i figure even if we use it for cereal..im ok with that...daddy just wants to be more involved...i nursed him a few min and then gave him the bottle to see if the latch on me would hold to the latch on the bottle and it seems to...considering hes gained over 5lbs since birth and well HE LOVES TO NURSE..im not as worried about the confusion...he will always choose me over a paci or anyone else..lol but i really appreciate the help!

My 1st daughter wouldn't take a bottle, breastmilk or formula, for a very long time. We tried everything from making sure I was out of the room, to varying the temperature of the milk, to different bottles. I just wanted a break. By the time she was 6 months, I thought I was going to have a breakdown but finally, we tried a random bottle we picked up at walmart (Nuby) and she went to town. Not sure if it was the nipple or what, but I finally got a break.
With our 2nd daughter, I started pumping from the get go and we gave her a bottle around 2 weeks (we waited to 6 weeks with our 1st). She took it, and she never had any nipple confusion. She didn't care what nipple we used, but maybe that was because we gave it so early?
If you really want to give the bottle, I would definitely make sure it's warm enough (people often say room temp. but remember breastmilk comes out at body temperature, so that's a fair difference), let someone other than mom try and also try yourself, because you don't know what will happen, and pick up a few different types of bottles.
I hope you figure it all out!!
Good luck!!

Usually they take the bottle better if it's someone other then mom! Make sure he's not too hungry, but not too full cuz if he gets upset he won't try.

You might have to try nipples that are shaped more for breastfeeding babies.

Also don't give him more then one bottle a day or you could risk him refusing the breast.

My son Eric had a bottle a few times a week when I worked but now I'm stay at home so Im not pumping.

I'm kinda happy to not have to do bottles, they are a pain!

Matt did enjoy feeding Eric bottles, but he agrees that breastfeeding is more important!
