when i went to the doctor i was 36weeks prego and 6days and i wass 1.5 cm dilated and my doctor told me my cervix thinned out awhole lot but its normal for first time moms and baby head is real low... i should of asked questions becaues everybody telling me i could go into labor this week or next ...im in school also and walk all the time...due date may 11 i pray she hold off till after my baby shower sat...i think she will but how fast can u dilate????

I.had my Midwife appointment today she said I'm about 1-2cm dilated and my cervix has thinned out alot she said because I'm 36 weeks 6 days I'll still be preterm if I have baby today your considered full term at 37 weeks that why she said she didn't want to see if two fingers would fit to see if I was 2cm

Since I have to have a c-section (due to complications with my son) my doctor doesn't check me. But I went into labor early, at 35 weeks, so they checked and I was at 3 cm and 80%. This was 3 weeks and 2 days ago! I don't see how I'm still pregnant! I was having good contractions yesterday, and had a doctors appointment, so was hopeing she would check me, as 4 cm she can take the baby, but she didn't :( I'm starting to get frustrated going this long, the pressure is horrible. And to top it all off my doctor has a family emergency out of town from today til saturday! so it might be her husband and another doctor that I've never met doing the surgery!

weas of this morning i have some hope i wont have 13 more days to go.. i lost he rest of my plug when i went to the bathroom so i am very hopeful labor will be starting before too much longer!!! im really hoping so anyways!!!

Today I'm at almost 2cm, 80% effaced and completely soft. Since in 8 days over she stripped my membranes and also gave me some homeopathic pills to help move it along presuming it's already at the right hormone levels for them to work. So fingers crossed for sometime tonight or tomorrow! I'm so ready :)

as of today ive progressed to 1.5-2 cm dialated and 50% effaced and a super soft cervix. both babies are staying head down and i have an induction scheduled for may 23rd if i havent gone into labor by then on my own.

Well I contracted all day Tuesday the 3rd, not painful ones but pretty regular. By 9pm my midwife came over and checked me out, I was 1.5 cm dilated and 60%effaced. So that's a decent amount of progress since last wednesday!
I got three hours of sleep and now can sleep any more cuz my back and legs keep feeling crampy and restless. Contractions are starting to hurt more so I hope I'm dilating more and more!

my daughter is is going to be the first out.. shes already really low in my pelvis.. i figure ill try vaginally if they stay head down cause it'll be faster healing but i still might end up with a csection cause things can change for me so quickly.. really just want them out already but i gotta wait until tomorrow night atleast.. still trying to get my med insurance stuff figured out and it iwll be a lot easier to get it fixed before delivery versus trying to do it afterwards.. soon as its fixed (tomorrow hopefully) its game on.. im coming off of bedrest and gonna do what i can to bring on the labor.. wont take much more then making food or doing a load of laundry at this point..

I am 37 weeks today and I am feeling so much pressure and cramping. I want him to hold off for at least a couple of days. It's my birthday tomorrow and I don't want to spend it in the hospital! lol

I tested positive for the group B strep this pregnancy. I had a UTI that went untreated for awhile because I had no idea that I had it. They finally got rid of the UTI with some ampicillin (a form of penicillin), but I will still be getting the Group B strep antibiotics once I go into labor.

Group b strep can be life threatening for the baby if mom is positive and isn't treated. Definitely ask for a test. And take probiotic pills, these combat the strep if it is inside you. I think it's called acidophilus pills.

I reckon i need to start being forward and asking for things to be done. We don't get the strep b swab here. We also don't get an internal unless theres a suggested complication or problem or suspected labour.... It's infuriating not knowing.

I ahd another appt today. Yesterday's was just a "spur of the moment" one because I thought I was leaking. Today I got tested for strepb and all that stuff. Yesterday I was at 1, maybe 2 and 50%. Today I am at 2 for sure and 75-80%. So anytime now!! Also had an ultrasound..love seeing her!

I had another appointment today, I'm still barely one cm but this time my cervix is thinning and softening so she says it is 'ripening' I guess that's good but I was hoping to be dilated a bit by now. I'm due in 4 days so hopefully things pick up soon!

36 weeks 3 days. 50% effaced/thinned still. 1-2 cm dilated. She's SUPER LOW. Having an ultrasound in the morning to check fluids and to see her!!

38+3 nd still haven't been checked, all I know is that he's in position and ready to launch. Been having BH contractions for a few weeks now and they're getting steadily worse, movement is definately minimal and when it is, it's LOW. My doctor's going on vacation next week though and I'm not sure if I'm comfortable asking a stranger for the details.

I was checked again today. I'm almost 2 cms. and pretty much completely thinned out. They don't think I'll make it to my next appointment. I think labor is pretty close. I've been nauseated with meals since yesterday. I'm starving to death, but don't feel like getting sick and not being able to. The midwife that I saw today told me to have sex and stimulate my nipples lol. We'll see how that goes.

I am supposed to go to a craft show this weekend a few hours away. I know if I tell my husband that I am 1 cm, he is going to over react and tell me I can't go. It's only for a few hours and I am going with a friend. But since my daughter came 3 weeks early, and he was out of town at the time, I think he's going to ground me until I have the baby! lol I feel like I am going to go early, but I won't know when it's going to happen until it happens. lol

I just went today and told my doctor about the cramping and pressure I have been feeling. She did an internal and told me I was 1 cm. That's it. She didn't say anything else except, wait til you're at least 37 weeks. Which means this weekend. Like I can control when he come! lol

I was checked again on Tuesday. I'm a good 1-1.5 cms dilated, thinned out, and she said she could feel the top of my cervix pretty well. The baby has been head down for 3 weeks or so and the midwife has been able to feel his head with each internal exam (3 so far). I've been feeling some pelvic pressure the past couple of days so I think he's making his way down. I'm due the 4th, but I figure I'll probably have him next weekend.

I'm pretty sure i lost some of my plug yesterday. Not due to see the midwife until Tuesday, but i've been having not painful, not consistant contractions for two days so i'm gettin a little concerned. It's probably just BH but i didn't get them last time so i'm not sure. We'll soon find out i suppose.

Well I got checked again today, I'm due in 11 days and so far I'm not showing any more signs of labor approaching. No dilating, and her head isn't engaged yet in my pelvis. I'm starting to thin a bit but nothing much so my midwife thinks I'll make it to my due date no problem.

I was ck last wk due to low abdominal pain and I was closed at 50% thinned. I am due May 24th but I hope to go in 2 wks. He is already weighing about 5 lbs 7 oz so he is indicating he is going to be a big boy.

I had a really bad urine infection at 34 weeks and it caused me to have contractions 3 minutes apart but luckily they managed to stop them, i am now at 37 +4 days and everything seems to be going good. My ribs are so sore though so I don't think my baby is engaged properly yet but this is my 2nd baby so pretty normal. Im hoping to make it to 40 weeks so only 2 weeks and 3 days to go. Im due on the 2nd but not sure if ill make it that far. I reckon with all the problems I have had Ill now probably end up overdue lol but I don't mind too much. i think this baby is bigger then what my daughter was, she weighted 6 pound 4 ounces so im hoping this one is no more then 8 pounds but the size really doesn't matter :D

i had my first exam at 33 weeks and boy was that not any fun.. i had to go in to be monitored after having contractions and a lot of uterine irritability luckily thecontractions stopped and i hadnt dialated or i woulda been stuck in the hospital until my twins delivered. im just hoping to make it to 36 weeks at this point but the babies will decide when they want to come. we are very excited for their arrival and i cant wait for this pregnancy to be over already =) both my ob and i figure ill go around 36 weeks but if not i have a csection scheduled already for 38 weeks so i know i only have 41 days at the very very most to go =)

I had my first internal last week. I was 35 weeks, 6 days. The midwife said I'm 1 cm dilated, but still thick. No info. on effacing. Baby has been head down since the week before the exam. My doctors office also starts checking once you hit your weekly exams and mine started last week. I'll be full term on Wednesday so it's just a waiting game from here on out. I'm due the 4th, but I think I'll go early like I did with my daughter. She was due the 5th of December and came the 1st. We're mostly ready for him to come lol. :)

I'm 37 weeks as of yesterday and my midwife says any time now is just fine! But I want it to be may, so I'm trying to convince my body to wait. :)
I had the internal exam because I was being tested for group b strep so it was just an add on. I might request it at the next visit just cuz I'm curious to see how I'm coming along! But when I'm in labor I like not having to have it checked as often as the nurses did with Eric, that was just annoying. I too am quite small and had a bigger baby 8lbs and 22 inches. But he came out just fine. I'm. Not worried about size. I'm hoping to go 40 weeks. But honestly, I just need to wash baby clothes, wash diapers, and get the room ready for the birthing pool and then I'm ok with her coming any time after that :)

Its actually very rare for a baby to be "too big." My midwives have told me this several times and I've read it a few different places. I am TINY and my first son was 8 pounds, so....its possible! lol. However, I am hoping this baby is smaller...still perfectly healthy, but smaller haha.
I'm fine with baby girl coming anytime after the 37 week mark, which is exactly 3 weeks from today!! She is already super low and I feel a lot of pressure. My exam last week was because I requested it...which is when they also did the preterm labor test, etc since I was feeling so much pressure (its only gotten more intense!) so yeah. After the 37 week mark, whenever I get checked I have asked to NOT be told any numbers or guesses...I feel that I might be disappointed or get too anxious if I know. However...in the next 3 weeks, I will be checked weekly since the pressure is so great, etc. So excited for everyone in May!!

Im really happy to say that my midwives dont do cervical exams with most people at all or if they do its because the mother wants one or they think it is really necessary. with my first daughter i started having exams when i was at the one appointment every week stage and from the very first exam i was 2 cm, my midwives did tell us however that second time around you dont generally dialate much or at all before labor starts and that the baby doesn't engage there heads as early, how ever im almost certain that at some points in the day my baby gets way down there because i have to waddle and sometimes its hard to walk at all because she is so low, then she pops back up into my ribs.lol As happy as i am not to have any exams it is nice to know where you are, i know that during labor ill as a few time like it did with my first daughter just because i need to know.lol If i start having alot of contractions and im not close enough to my due date which is still 7 weeks away then they might check me to make sure im not in preterm labor. im just hoping to make it to 38 weeks which is what my midwives consider full term , they feel that with being outside the hospital that extra week makes it safer, so im just crossing my fingers and my legs that she stays in till at least may 12 but if i have her on my die date my babies will be exactly 2 years 2 months apart and i think thats kinda cool, however I tell everyone she cant come out late because im already afraid she will be to big, although there is no reason for me to feel that way

I wish our midwives were as thorough... I didn't get offered or even the slightest hint or suggestion of an examination and i doubt i will unless there is some significant effort on my part, which there wont be unless there's a very good reason. I SORT of know that baby is head down (35 +2 today) but only because i asked. I haven't got a clue if he's engaged at all, even though i feel like he's lower and i've had a lot of pelvic pain from the obvious pressure of bones... I'm assuming a skull...
Last pregnancy i was supposed to be induced AROUND my due date, due to complications with my medication and mental state, but then they changed their mind and he came a day after i was due anyway.
This time i've had nothing from anyone, except they have given me three extra scans everytime i've had an appointment with the consultant, more to keep me happy attending the appointments than to actually measure the baby....
Hope someone tells me i'm 2/5 or 3/5's engaged when i visit the hospital next week, maybe do an internal and let me know if anything is going on down there. I'd love to be late this time too, only because i don't technically have a house yet, and possibly wont until literally my due date!!!

Lol, yah everyone is shocked I want to go late! It's not that I really want to be late, it's just erics birthday is April 7 so may 7 would be nice as it's two years and one month exactly apart!
But anytime in may is good for me! I just don't want April cuz aprilis stuffed with my sons bday, my mom, my brother, my mil and my fil!
Wow rylie is low! That's cool, I think Fierna goes up and down alot cuz here and there I feel her head way low down and pushing on my pelvis. That hurts.
I'm 37 weeks on sunda so I'm glad I made it!after that its all good for labor. I'm getting so excited :)

haha I have never heard anyone hope to be late before!!

I had one done last week at 33 weeks due to some pressure I was feeling.
Of course having some look at you and touch your like that (that you aren't married to and isn't doing for intimate reasons) is a bit awkward but I'm not embarrassed this time around...its their job and they don't judge like that, so its all good in my eyes. But still awkward lol.
So at 33 weeks with baby #2, due May 22:
Rylie is head down!!
She is at 0, so she's pretty low for only 33 weeks, but not fully engaged.
I am one cm dilated and my cervix is 50% thinned.
She didn't mention effaced, so I'm not sure where I am on that.
Her little head is literally resting on my bones, so its kinda painful.
The midwife (and now my hubby) can feel her head inside.
So since things are looking so "far" along with her, my midwife did run the test for preterm labor (where they test to see if you are producing the horomone that shows when you beginning shedding the lining that attaches your water to your uterus/placenta, etc.) and I passed. So while its not a clean bill that she won't come early, it means no bed rest or restrictions for now. So she better stay in and cook for at least 3.5 more weeks to 37 weeks full term if not the full 6.5 weeks to due date.
My son was a week late and I was miserable...so I am hoping this one comes between 38-40 weeks haha.
I can't wait!!!!!!!
