My baby is 2 and a half weeks old and he sleeps in his crib during the day with no problems. It seems like the first night time feeding he doesnt want to sleep unless its with me. Help!

I had the same problem for the first month or so with my son. Does your son get held a lot in the day time, so his naps in the crib aren't as long as you think? I got to thinking what my son's problem was, and turns out in between taking naps in his crib he also slept in his bouncy seat, on his bobby pillow, and of course on me....semi upright... often. when I put him down for the night in his crib, he was then lying flat for much longer, and turns out he has reflux. It is not bad enough to bother him for a 2-3 hour nap...but was enough to wake him and make him uncomfortable during the night. I think he kinda started to realize that his crib at night ment not being comfortable and he would refuse to sleep in it at all during the night, but would still take naps in it during the day. He did better with an incline thing made for infants. mine has positioners on the sides to keep baby snug while inclined, kind of like a parent holding him upright. It will get better for you and your baby. my son now 7 weeks sleeps flat in his crib, and I rarely have to hold him for very long during the night. Good luck and congrats on your baby!!

i put my son in his boppy pillow and its like heaven for him. I make sure hes wrapped in a light fleece and give him a pacifier and hes out like a light. I guess he likes it because its like a constant hug.

I usually put her to sleep on my chest at night and then put her in her crib once she is asleep. Sometimes she wakes up some but she usually goes back to sleep pretty quick.

could he still be hungery, or gases. my little one sleeps in her crib, but she would love just to sleep with me all the time (i must admitt when i am having a bad day with her i just put her in her carrier and walk around!). It seems that if i rock her in her crib, and sing softly to her she tends to settle. Are you wrapping him? When i don't wrap Beth snug enough she really lets me know!

I put a fleece blanket under Zachary and then wrap him with that and place a smaller blanket on top of him. He does usually end up in the swing or with me half way through the night. He usually only stays in the bed if I've fallen back asleep after he's done nursing and don't put him back. I actually thought that he was going to make it the whole night in his crib last night, but after waking up and putting him back at 5 this morning, he woke up and ended up in the swing.

With my son I would use a cloth rag to breastfeed him, it would catch the dribbles of milk so it would smell like me and I'd put that down in the crib and lay him on top of it. He smelled my milk and was comforted.
That said, I found it's easier for me to bed share with my new baby, I sleep all night barely waking to nurse her, and I get much much more sleep then I did when my son was small and I'd have to get up to feed him.

Did you tried wrapping your baby in a blanket? That worked with my twins just fine.
Maybe he gets cold or warm at night and he needs more/less blankets??
when mines gets fussy, I put them to sleep on my chest and move them to their crib later. Works most of the times, the rest they just sleep with me.
Maybe he has reflux? All I can think about.
Good luck!
