Im new here:)and im really happy to have the oportunity to talk and learn more with other moms:).I have a question,my 1 month and half son,as been constipated,the doctor told me to give him,1 oz of prune juice from gerber,i tried but its not working.I just start with the dark Karo syrup yesterday,and he looks much better,didnt complain so much.Does anyone knows something better then that?Thank you

Hi Everyone:)I went to the doctor again,with my baby and his doctor,changed his formula again,he was having a allergic reaction.Now hes on Enfamil Nutramigen,and its wonderful,1st day was a little dificult,because he had a lot of gas and colics,but now,hes poops 3/4 for times a day,i can see the diference:)Thank you for your comments.

But also if you changed formula recently, it is normal to have some constipation. It will go away. It happened to me when I changed the girls from formula to cows milk. It was awful. Pear juice did the trick since prune puree wasn't working.
If ater a few days of giving him prune/apple/pear juice you don't see any changes, take him back to the doctor. He might be dehydrated...

I hope that he is feeling better soon. I breast fed my oldest and am currently breast feeding my daughter. When I started feeding them solids that is when the constipation started. I am glad you can find some suggestions on here. I love this because it makes me feel like I am not alone and I can get advice from other moms going through or have gone through what I am :) Good Luck too:)

Hi Jennifer,Yes his doctor changed his formula for soy,i start to give him dark karo syrup,and he looks much better:)poor little baby

Did your doctor suggest switching him to soy formula? I'm just wondering because soy is normally avoided big time if constipation is an issue. Most of the babies on here are now either still breast feeding and/or being introduced to cows milk...but I think the apple/prune juice, the Karo syrup and formula switches were the main things used for them!!

I always liked apple juice. It works well too. I also use apple/prune juice. Maybe see if it is the formula that is making him constipated, so that you can maybe switch brands of types.
