My daughter is a very active toddler and I would like to get her involved in some activities to meet other kids and burn off some energy. We live in South Lyon and the rec program does not have much for her age other that swimming. Does anyone have any ideas as to where to look for classes??

Yes I was going to say the library also.

Is there a YMCA near you?

Our rec center has an indoor playground in the winter months. They take "outside" toys like jungle gyms, bikes, balls, tunnels and slides and set them up in the large gym so the kids can run.

Swimming would be fun for her age.

Look at cities near you. You can usually use thier rec centers for an additional fee.

Good Luck

Oh the Detroit Science Center has a very cool preschool area. It fairly new. We are science center members and my boys love it. There is a stage with dress up clothes, a play library, a vet shop with x-rays and turtles, a ball pit, an awesome water table, a restraunt and each day there is a craft project for the children to make.

Try the library...sometimes they have fun and interesting options.  Usually is a pretty good turn out as well.

I'm not sure if they have a Kindermusik program where you are from but we had our kids in it until they started preschool. Teaches them about rhythm, music, instruments, singing, story time, listening, distinguishing different beats/sounds, etc... very fun 45 min. once a week class.
