My best place for meeting up with fellow moms is at my church. I go to First Baptist of Bridgeport and there are at least 30 other moms there with kids my children's age. We might be a bit far for you, but maybe finding one in your area that has a lot of kids would be a great option =) Good luck. changing over to being a SAHM is tough for sure!

I have the same problem, and then I moved up to Michigan... I don't know 2many people, so I posted a ad on craigslist about play groups in my area.

Hi Nikki - I'm so sorry you're feeling lonely! I understand your situation, I was the LAST of my friends to get married and have babies... also a bit on the lonely side sometimes. I also moved to a "central" location, which means convenient for no one. I think the car situation is probably the worst part, but if you're sharing a vehicle, then you should at least be able to find some groups that meet in the evenings. Some of the libraries in Wayne County offer baby/toddler programs on Saturday morning. There are all kinds of SAHM playdate groups online, maybe you could host if transportation is your primary issue. Once the weather breaks, walk to the park. You might meet some neighborhood SAHM's there. I know that just by pushing my son in his stroller around our neighborhood, I've run into other stroller people and we'd chat for a few.

Depending on your city, you might find programs at the elementary schools or recreation center that you can get into.
