Moving to Fort Bragg

hi everyone,
my husband recently transferred from Hawaii's national guard to active army and we just got notified that we will be stationed in Ft. Bragg this December. I am a born and raised Hawaii girl so am a little nervous about what to expect over there. Could you tell me some positive things about that area and the base itself?
I am also expecting in Feb. and will most likely deliver at WAMC, has anyone delivered there before? How are the labor/recovery rooms? How is the wait for your appointments in general?
Does it snow during winter on base? Is the housing nice? So many questions! Please let me know any other helpful things. Thanks so much!

Hello my name is melanie and I have lived here for a year and a half and I really like it. I don't know much about labor and delivery because I have not had a child here. once in awhile it snows but not very often as for the housing it depends where you live they have some beautiful new houses and alot of the new ones are being remodeled I myself live on the Pope AFB side of bragg and the houses are nice they are refurbishing all of them if you want to look at the housing you should go to army onestop housing if will show you the floor plans and pictures of the homes. there is 2 commisaries and 2 Px's on post and there are thrift shops, plenty of play grounds and schools.I feel its a nice base to live on but you make your experience what you want to make of it. The outside area which is Fayetteville there is some bad areas you just know to stay away from them and there is really good shopping. if there is anything else you would like to know please ask.
