Hi All,
I am a fairly new Air Force Mom. My son left for BMT in Jan. he just graduated Tech school and came home and surprised me June 17. He is home for RAP and 9 days leave. His first duty station will beat Wright Paterson in Ohio. He will be 12 hours from home. Anyone have family that has been there? Just looking for a little info on the base. Thanks,Chris

my husband is in the airforce. he's actually in boot camp right now.. and he's missing alot of ashlyn's beginiing months. and it's sad. he's in aircraft armament. he wants to be security forces after his first 6 years. but i'm worried aboutit beacuse it has the highest divorce rate out of all thejobs. and we're only 18 years old so im really scaredabout it.. and i've recently decided in thenext year i'm going to join as well. it just runsinmy family and hasalways been a dream of mine.

My husband used to be an instructor at Fort Dix for the Raven program and a few of the others, We left there 5 years ago. I still miss that base and the people he worked with. Chris, Wright Patt is a great base we have people there that were with us at Fort Dix and here at Lackland. Hubby was in Security Forces for almost 26 years. There was only one year he wasn't and that was the year he cross trained in to CATM then they merged it into SF. My daufghter just graduated from Tech School she is in Personell with the reserves here at Lackland/Kelly.
There is an Air Force Moms list on Facebook come join us. Alot of good ladies and good info.

My son is in San Antonio now for BMT. He will be in Biloxi for his tech school training. I am hoping to ship him a video phone so I can see him when he calls me and vise versa. I miss him and it will be nice to see his face even so far away.
He is in PMEL. I have looked up what that is but still do not know what he is going to be doing. LOL.
We are going down in November to the BMT graduation and cannot wait!

Hi Chris,
My daughter was never stationed there, but she did visit the base and said it was really nice. How lucky for you that he is that close. Since completing Tech School 3 1/2 years ago, my daughter has been stationed at RAF Lakenheath in England and is now at Ramstein. She just got back from Iraq about a month ago. Before she left she had to complete 6 weeks of training at Ft. Dix, so I at least got to see her before she left. What is his job? Look forward to hearing from you! Marie
