I have a strong feeling we will be stationed at Dover AFB in DE. Joshua hasn't left AIT school yet so we haven't gotten official word.

I was just interested in seeing where everyone has been and how many times you moved.

Our first duty station was Cannon AFB (I guess I should say that I am from Portales NM and met my husband in Clovis while stationed at Cannon AFB), our second one was Pope AFB, our third was Hill AFB, our fourth was Cannon AFB again where we were supposed to stay but they realigned it, our fifth base was Davis Monthan AFB, and our latest and worst so far (and hopefully our last after 21 years in) is Misawa AFB Japan.

Did you like Mountian home? It's on our list, but we don't know anyone that's been there. Our only base so far has been Germany, but Japan is of our list too...so who knows!

Our first (and only so far) was Spangdahlem AB, Germany. Which by the way was NO WHERE on a dream sheet but we love it here, so much so that we extended! We have one year left here before moving on, but we are excited to see where we head next. Due to rank and my hubby's job, we only have 10 bases available to us and half are overseas! Good luck with your future base,

My husband is still in tech school for Air Traffic Control, but in August we'll be moving (our first move, obviously, lol) to Columbus AFB in Mississippi. I'm super stressed about all of the details, just because I have no clue what's going on on, really. But we'll get everything figured out!

My husband has been in for four years so far and we've been at McConnell AFB in Wichita KS the whole time. A lot of people spend their whole careers here. We're hoping for orders when we hit the five year mark. Fingers crossed!

Navy wife here. so it might be a bit different. We married 8 years ago. 6 months in San Diego, two years in Nevada, 1 year in San Diego, 2 years in Guam, 2 years-Japan, 3 years-Italy. And with 2 kids born overseas. It's tough I can't lie but you need to be adaptable. that's just a part of being a military family. there will be up and downs moving so much. you'll make tons of friends from everywhere and get to explore new cities, new countries. Some places you'll hate and beg to leave, some places you'll beg to extend. There are no civilian families I can think of that has a lifestyle like us. But, we're an important part of keeping our military strong. The spouses who support their country. I feel so proud even when our marriage was hit at it's worst. Good luck on your adventure.

After Lackland, I went across the street to Kelly AFB, TX, then to Osan AB, ROK, to the Presidio of Monterey, CA, to Dyess AFB, TX where I separated and married my AD hubby...who has since moved us to Sheppard AFB, TX and now to Shaw AFB, SC about 3 months ago. I spent 8 years on active duty, and we've now been married 8 years. Hubby spent most of 13 years at Dyess AFB, though, so some career fields move and some don't, and some bases seem like "black holes" where you just kind of go and stay a while. He and I were same AFSC, so in each of our cases it seemed to be the luck of the draw, I guess!

My husband did tech school at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, TX and we are currently stationed at Hurlburt Fields in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Moving is a way of life and you just have to embrace the good moves, the bad moves, the bases you hate and the ones you will always miss :)

My husband has been in for 6 1/2 years now, and we have been stationed at Elmendorf (Now Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson) in Alaska the entire time after he finished tech school. We have had to put in for an extension here, which puts us at 5 years at this base. Not too bad. He works on the C-17 jets but is looking to retrain.

Rucker AL (Helo Training), Yokota AB Japan, Andrews AFB MD, Nellis AFB NV, Cannon AFB NM and now Langley AFB VA...we're usually at a base 2 yrs except for the tour in Japan. My hubby is in RPA guy now and lots of basing option coming up for that...hoping to head home to MO next, although I do like traveling an moving...I would LOVE to go back overseas! We have 2 - 5 yr olds that are professional travelers and they enjoying the changes as well!

My husband and I have only been stationed at Malmstrom in MT. He's on his second enlistment. We like it here and he's switched jobs a few times. He worked on missiles first, but that schedule is very anti-family. There aren't many places we want to go and most don't have bases like New Zealand, China, Russia, Switzerland... And we put in for Guam which we really wanted but we didn't get it so we'll just stay here until the kids are older and can vote on where they want to be. We bought a house and everything. The only bad part is the long winter.

My husband's first assignment was McGuire,NJ, then we moved to Kadena in Okinawa, Mt Home, ID (he spent a year in Korea while we were there), then moved to Eielson in Alaska. We have been at Fairchild in WA for a little over 6 years. Hubby is at Qatar for a year, then we are moving on to Elmendorf, AK. Not too bad for 17 years in, he has been assigned to 8 bases (6 with us as a family)

After my hubby finished Tech school he came straight here and he hasnt left since. That was in 2002!!!!! Kirtland is a pretty large base from what I hear and we have visited Nellis and it is pretty small compaired to Kirtland. My hubby is only allowed like 6 bases in the world to be stationed. He is getting ready to re-train....thank goodness!! We would like to go to Charleston AFB!!!!!

Hubby has been here for 8 years. I have been here almost 5.

My husband is in the Air Force, but he is a TACP/JTAC. (So he works with the Army), So our first station was Ft. Campbell Kentucky. We are now on McChord AFB in Washington (Only because it touches Ft. Lewis)....So thats why I'm living on an AFB this time.....We are moving to Oahu, Hawaii in Feb or march, after he gets back from Korea. Depending on how big of a commute it is to the Army post in the middle of the island, we might end up living on Hickam AFB.

I am already wondering where we will go from here. Its so exciting!

I have been an Air Force wife to my Firefighter husband for 17 years now.. our first base was Ellsworth, SD(were there for 1 year) next was Howard AFB in Panama, Central America(2 years) then on to Columbus AFB in MS(there for 3 years) then on to Kadena AB in Okinawa Japan(my fav base, was there for 4 years) then on to Eielson AFB in Alaska(there for 5 years-very cold) then on to MInot AFB in ND(here 2 years)we leave Minot in 3 weeks to move to Spangdahlem AB in Germany! I love living overseas the best, it is more money, you get COLA over there which is awesome and there is much more stuff to see and do and for your kids the culture they will experience is amazing!

Since we were 3 yrs at MacDill AFB, FL, 4 yrs RAF Mildenhall UK, 2 yrs Andrews AFB, MD and we're now on year 3 back at RAF Mildenhall. Dh is aircraft maint....so they can move around a lot too! I think it really depends on willingness to go overseas...the friends we have who refuse to go overseas seem to stay at the same base for a long time.

I was wondering the same thing! My husband has been in the Air Force for 6.5 years. We got married right after he got to his first duty station, which is Langley AFB in Va. And that's where we've been the past 6 years! He works on the F-15s and just made tech sgt. so I'm hoping we'll get orders soon. We've been trying for years but no luck. That BOP they offer as an incentive to reenlist is garbage!
