Christine Carter...We are stationed at Fort Drum also. I have a 17 month old son. We used to live in Watertown but moved to Evans Mills which is about 2 miles from post. We live in Eagle Ridge Village Townhomes...almost brand new..a little bit pricey but really close to post and really nice inside and come with a washer and dryer (if you don't have one). Just thought I'd help out. Its a nice little apartment complex, I like it a lot.

Hi! I'm moving to FT Drum next month with my loving hubby and two kiddos (4 and 11 months - boys). Would love to make some connections before I get there! :-) If any of you have suggestions on areas to AVOID renting, that would be awesome! We're looking at off post housing since we have two parrots and they are considered "exotic pets" by the housing department. :-(

well its hard to find ppl in watertown b.c all the wifes are all on base i have seen. i know some like one or 2 ppl that actually live off post w. me. but its hard to get them to hang w. me and my son b.c of the stupid weather god i hate the snow. if anyway want to meet up w. me and my son jsut email me at cathyqt85@hotmail.com. we are dying in the house and my son is kinda going crazy b.c he isnt near other kids his age. he is 17 months old fire ball lol. well ttyl

It seems like the moms who posted here dont have any "local contacts" as I don't being that I just moved from NYC to live in my house up here while my husband is deployed. I myself live off post so it's a little harder to network with other moms becuase of the weather, schedules, or many moms moved away during deployment. How would you moms propose that those looking to network get together (outside of montly FRG meetings) so that we don't feel so lost here?

yea i know how u feel its hard b/c everyone is leaving and all. i just got to ft drum/watertown about xmas time and i have a 17 month son and i would like to get him a play date b.c he loves to play and he need to be w other ppl. im stuck here b.c of the weather and i dont know anyone here excpet for some ppl. but im trying to get some ppl together but its hard b.c they either are to busy or they dotn live here anymore.

I just moved from gouverneur to the base about 3 months ago. My huband has been deployed since August. And we have two daughters, our oldest is 2 and our youngest just turned 6 months,. We're stuck out here with no family anyyyy where close. " /are you on base?

we have a 14 month old son. me and hubby are both originally from Rhode island. he went active duty from the reserves nov 2007 after we got married and we were first stationed at ft campbell ky and now we came up here to be closer to RI..its about a 6 hour drive. what about you? if u have facebook look me up using the email kitty5305@hotmail.com
