DH was hit on the HSST list. Hoping to head to parris island! I just want to know what life is like. I know it's not easy and it's crazy but I want details!! My husband and I have been together 10 years, married for 5. We have gone into so many things blind with the usmc so I really just wanna know! The good the bad the ugly!

It's a weird process. So they get put on the list and are REQUIRED to fill out a recruiting package. However, if recruiting is not what they desire they also fill out their other choice. In the end if the quota for recruiting is not made, some people won't get their choice and will be forced to deny orders or recruit! My hubby submit both his packages last week (recruiting and DI). Now it's the waiting game. The worst part about the usmc ever ... The constant waiting!! Hope your hubby will be returning to you soon!

Well my husband isn't a DI, but he did get put on the the HIIST list but it was for Recruiter. They said he can actually pick any B Billet, which he's choosing DI once he gets back from this deployment he's currently on. Did your husband get picked for DI or for something else?
