Any wives with husbands that work night shift?

I know how you feel Bethany. My husband works nights in the air force as well and we have a 2 month old son and he is always so tired from working nights that he sleeps most of the day.

I'm so glad to see I'm not alone :) My husband also works nights for a big retail chain for almost 5 years now. He works from 7 to 10. I work fulltime as well in the morning. We have a 4 almost 5 year old and a 10 month old. Hubby stays up with our daughter in the morning while our 4 year old son goes to.daycare. He's great with his kids but I sure do miss him. He has a work wife and it drives me crazy. Any thoughts?

My hubby and I are at Dover afb and we have a 1 month old baby boy. He works nights so he sleeps all day. We also live to far away to see family. I'm looking for anyone moms near me that are willing to get together. I need a girls day. I am new here and don't know anyone yet.

Yes!!!! I actually just looked to see if it was actually me asking this question because it is our same story! Our daughter is 16 months old, hubby is SF for air force, works night shift, and we live too far from home for family visits and support. The past two years here have been ups and downs. I feel like its a down again right now. Any advice???

o how i feel your pain! My husband has been working the night shift as a welder for 4 yr. It was fine before my daughter came along. But now it's not working at all. He works 4:30-4:30 Monday thru Thursday, I work 7:30-4:00. We only see each other on the weekend , if that. He gets our daughter ready for daycare and comes home to sleep. Bytime I pick our daughter up from daycare he's gone. So I'm alone ALOT! to top it off on the weekends he works part time on a farm. If he's not doing that on the weekend he usually says he needs some time to do fun things for him self. So needless to say Im pretty lonley. I find my self talking to our dogs as though they were going to talk back to me. I would like to say you will get use to it, but you don't if anything it just gets worse as the years go on. I do not believe in divorse and at this point i guess i will just keep on talking to my dogs!

I know it is hard to have your husband work nights. Mine does, and has for 5 1/2 years! It is hard on him, me and our daughter, our life and marriage No matter how much we support him, life is really hard still. my hubby works night too and yes it sucks there not much help with the kids too so im supermom. Its get easier as the kids get older

Thanks girls!! Kayla (CONGRATS) I am used to it by now but she is 4 months old and it was very hard I dont wish this upon anyone. I wish you the very best. And you can always message me!! He gets up as early as he can especially since he doesnt crawl into bed at 7 or 8 am from giving his troops PT, so he tries to get up around 2pm. I make him breakfast so he can hold her and play with her feeding her lunch or something than next thing you know 45 mins later he is hopping in shower and getting ready for work. He has been doing alot better with trying his best to spend time with his and now that she is getting older she notices him walk into the room and just gets so excited and smiles!

It's rough. He has to make the effort with you to be awake a couple hours after work to spend with your baby, and if possible a couple hours before work also for you. It will help both of you to deal with him having to work nights, when you both make an effort to give him family time.



You personally may want to try to involve yourself with either the other spouses with babies from his office circle, or find your own through local play groups. Best wishes to you both. Been there, done that, doing it still albeit less often now.

yea my husband works nights n it really suck cause when i want to spend time with him he wants to sleep so there's not much bonding time available

I am due in May with our first baby. My husband works a rotating shift from days and nights so I will soon be in your position, although he wont be on nights full time I can imagine how hard it will be. Im sorry your hubby is missing out on precious time with Khloe but dont stress it, it will all be ok.
