Anyone else want to dig your feet in and refuse to PCS?

Let me start that my husband has been in the AF for 9 yrs. We have lived coast to coast and overseas a total of 6 bases already. I absolutely love where we are stationed, for the FIRST time in this whole 9 yrs. Go figure, lol! Hubbys orders came down like we were expecting, but now that its realllllly official I just want to dig in and stay. Just wondering if anyone else has had an attactment to their base/station/state and how to best get yourself in the right mindset for "THE MOVE."
I keep being positive about it for the kids and they are excited at least. I want to stay, as selfish as it sounds. Still though I will go where ever my hubby is b/c I love him. Just not dealing well with the thoughts of leaving my beloved AZ.

Oh wow.. I've lived in a lot of places, but never Idaho. I hope it goes well!!! Just keep an open mind and hopefully it will be better than you think. Good luck!

Christina- we are headed to Mountain Home Idaho :p
Terri- thanks for the advice. Unfortunately we already tried that route. They refused to let him homebase or take a one year overseas and return. Minimally manned field :(

so has your husband thought of doing a tdy for a year. Then you could stay. I know others of done it, we just kept moving and moving, i have met some wonderful friends in on place and not any at the next thing i would and now it is time to retire(25yrs) kids are off at colleges and married(lives for themselve but not settled) and we really dont have a home place. I wish i had put down roots at the areas i liked best and made friends to share a meaningful life style. So looked into!

I remember being like that when my Dad was in the AF (haven't been married to my hubby long enough to have recent feelings like this). But you know what? Something wonderful just may come out of the move, so just keep thinking positively like you're already doing and keep an open mind. Who knows, you may end up liking the next place even MORE than you love AZ :) Where are you going, btw? And good luck with the move!

I know how you feel. Just when you finally get into a rhythm it's time to pack up and go. I just keep telling myself we're going to retire soon and we can go back to one of those places we really loved. So for right now I just take it as a chance to see everything our country has to offer.
