Hubbie is an Army recruiter and is being station in Brighton Colorado, Buckley is a 30 min drive but maybe worth living on post?? I just want to know everyones opinion on the base, and anyone know anything about Colorado.. Thx

I have never lived on Buckley AFB although I am hoping my hubby will get stationed there after our year in DC. Denver is home for me, so I can answer your questions about Colorado to the best of my ability. I can tell you that I have been to 32 states and Colorado ranks #1 for me. I have lived so many places its ridiculous and Colorado is my favorite by far!! I was born in Iowa but lived the majority of my life in CO. Brighton is okay. Buckley is basically in Aurora. You could live in Parker or Englewood which are both much nicer than Brighton and closer. Aurora isn't the best area although the further south you get the better. Cherry Creek is nice as well but can be pretty pricey. There are so many things to do in Colorado I can't even list them all.
Starting in Denver for kids you have Elitch Gardens (kind of like 6 Flags), the Denver Aquarium, the Zoo, Pirate's Cove, Broomfield Aquatic Center, Belleview Park in Englewood is huge and has train rides for kids among other things. Colorado Springs has Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds, Pikes Peak with a Train ride to the top, of course there is skiing and snowboarding everywhere. Lookout Mountain is in Golden, along with the Coors Brewery and Buffalo Bills Grave. Red Rocks Ampitheater and Park is great! Eldorado Springs is in Superior, Black Canyon is up 285 near Gunnison. Royal Gorge and 4 corners is down south near Co Springs, Mesa Verde has the Cave Dwellings, Boulder Falls, Estes Park. There is just too much. Please feel free to message me about ANYTHING you are looking for in Colorado. I can probably answer all questions from family outings, to night life, to restaurants and shopping =) ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

ive never been on buckley but im on peterson with the army and we like colorado springs. there is alot of things to do outdoors and such. its a bit hot now though lol

We just came from Buckley! I love Colorado!! On base housing is nice, but I'm not sure I would want to do the 30 min. drive. Let me know if you have any other questions!
