Anyone in Fort Sill, OK?

HI! I've been here 2 years, not much to do here, but I've learned to like it. I know witchita falls is a bit of a drive but your kids would probably love "jump for joy" it's $7/kid and is a whole building of bounce houses (with slides, obsticale, etc). The wildlife refuse is a hit with my girls (kate- 11 months, and Carrie special needs 3) Also pigment of your imagination is fun. It's 1/2 price painting fee on tues and the kids paint their own ceramics. The store puts them in a kiln and their so cute, and the stuff starts pretty cheap (it's on sheridan in front of hobby lobby)... you have to be creative to live in Lawton, but it's fine. The only indoor play place is mcdonalds on cache near 38th (chicfila on cache has an outdoor one) or there is a BK with an indoor playplace out near the refuge. I know it's winter, but come summer, did you know we have a beach?? Yep right here in OK, sandy and BEAUTIFUL. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it. It's also got a water slide that's fun (not too big for little kids)
There is a great park on 38th just south of cache, called kidzone (or greer park). it's the best one I've found, and if you go to elmer thomas park (the one on cache as you get close to the hwy) or liberty park you can feed the ducks
We are always looking for new friends if anyone on here wants to get together. We have a few local friends we like to get together with and do crafts and such :)

We just PCS'ed to Ft. Sill. We have a 12 month wait for on post housing so we are living in Geronimo right now. I have four children, one 9 year old, two 6 year olds, and a four year old. I know that the closest Chuck E Cheese is in Wichita Falls. Since I have only been here a month I am still searching for things to do as well. Every time we PCS the first things I look for are the Wal-mart, the library, and the Chuck E Cheese. Does anyone know if CYS on post has playgroups? They have had them at every post we have been to so far. That may be a good start.

Ok.. I think I know what you are talking about... I just thought that was for only those who lived on post in the neighborhood... Man I wish I had known this at the beginning of summer I so would have been there... I know the ones like that at Ft. Bragg are for the on post only community..

Hey I know what u mean. There isn't too much to do here, but that could be because I from this area. The Nye Library has the Explorer Club on Fridays at 10am. I usually take my kids up there. Its for kids 3 and under. They read them a story, do arts and crafts, then they get to play with lots of toys. But as far as grown up stuff I don't know, lol my life revolves around the kiddos.

im not stationed there but my brother is. i actually live in a small town called johnstown in PA. u guys are lucky to even live on a post. lol. my husband switched from the guard to active duty and his first station was s korea. so they kept me here. i dont really have any friends here but im always down for meeting other wives around the country because you never know where you will end up next. but hopefully i will be going to fort sill the end of oct because my brother is getting married. so if im down that way it will be nice to meet up with someone to chill and have a cup of coffee with or soemthing. i have a 3 month old daughter and by the time im there she will be 5 months!!! but when iwas there for his graduation in 2007 there wasnt much there other than the mall. well hey put the kids in a stroller, window shop (or if you actually have money do a lil shopping) and exercise. always nice! :)

If u have a car. there is the library. they have a set day of free stuff for little ones to do u just have to call or go in to see when it is. the mall has a nice play area. there are tons of nice play equipment around. I would just start to ask people that u see around. go meet ur neigbors and ask them. i live in norman. which is an hour an a half a way up the turn pike. my husband was down there before he has to go to iraq. if u need any thing else u can just ask.my kids loved the park over by the main gate, an the new one across from the fire house. good luck
