Anyone stationed at Quantico, VA??

I'm not at Quantico but right down the street in Stafford, VA (only about 5 miles). My hubby is in the Army, stationed at Ft. Belvoir. There was no post housing available when we moved here so we moved into Aquia Harbor. He's currently gone for 6 months on a TDY and I'm all alone. We moved here from Portland, OR back in August and I don't know anyone, just my neighbor. She introduced me to a Yahoo moms group and I'm slowly starting to integrate and meet some of them. All of my family is back in OR/WA. Shoot me a personal message and we can try to get together. You can also find me on Facebook (kimdebruhl@yahoo.com) How old are your kiddos? I have 4 at home, 16yrs, 8yrs, 7yrs and 13mo + one due in May. I'd love to get together for coffee or lunch or something. I go to Quantico about once a week to shop at the commissary.

To Jordan: I wish I had family that close. I'd be down there too! If you ever get bored and want to do something let me know. The most I do these days is take my daughter to story time.

Hey there, my name is tarry and i currently live on base at Quantico.. this area is really hard for making friends, i've lived her 3 almost 4 years and i'm still finding it hard to meet new ppl.. it's like most wives that live here just keep to themselves. but right now i'm currently working with our units' FRO to set up events to bring wives closer and to step out of their shells... So if you ever want to talk or hang out maybe we can set up a play date sometime when the weather gets better :)

Do I have to be honest? If so, I really don't like it here. I moved here a year and a half ago but haven't been here the whole time. Whenever I am able I escape to NC or VA to hang out with family. At least there is no lack of things to do in this area. Plenty to go and see if I get bored! :)

I joined that site too. And it doesn't get much use from what I've seen. I joined this one hoping it would be a little better. How do you like MD so far? I'm not really loving yet.

Silver Spring isn't too far from here, Tiffany. I too haven't been able to track down many Maryland Mommies even though I joined the Maryland Mom community on this site. It seems like no one is ever on.

There aren't too many people stationed around this area on this site. We live in Silver Spring, MD. I have a 3 yr old and a 3 mo old. Adult conversation would be more than welcome. You can only talk about Dora for so long!

I don't live at Quantico but I am not too awful far away. I live in Odenton, MD. I too have not met many people here. My husband and I are living off post because we completely BANK on the BHA! haha. He works with an older unit so there are not many people around my age. I am constantly heading down to NC. Maybe on one of my trips down we can get together for coffee or something!
