Army/Air National Guard spouses...

I grew up in an air force community and loved the friendships among the wives. However, as an ARNG wife, I don’t get to interact with the spouses very often. My husband works at the same place full time as well as part time and has a few friends there. I know the soldiers, but can never seem to cross into the “friend zone” to meet the spouses.

Any ideas on how I can bring the wives together outside of the holiday party?

My husband and I are both in the ANG. We are at Selfridge ANG base in Michigan.

I'm an ANG wife in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. My husband drills in Chattanooga, TN. I have been and active-duty spouse and loved that the spouses got to know one another and I felt a closeness. I don't feel that way now. My husband reenlisted over 1 year ago and I have yet to meet even 1 other spouse. I missed the holiday party, my husband was TDY for 6 months and I didn't even know about the party. I feel left out. Seems to be a common post on here....... Anyone from my area???

I am in delaware. I know a few of the spouses, but many of them seem content with their own friends...There are activites for spouses during deployment...but what if the soldier stays state side and is still gone all the time? I'm glad I at least have this venue to learn more...

I am also a ARNG wife. We live in las cruces nm and I don't know many wives/girlfriends. I did when my husband deployed but many of them have changed since then and don't want to have anything to do with the rest of us anymore!! I don't know how to bring the wives together, but I do envy the active spouses because at least they are on post with each other!

I am a ARNG wife as well! where are you from? I have been wondering that same question because my husband is gearing up for deployment and i don't know any of the wives and it bothers me.
