Hi All!! I'm a bit confuzzled on how to do this so I need advice. :) My hubby and I are expecting our first little one in June and we've created our baby registries for our families. Unfortunately not everyone has email, and most of our family is on the West Coast while we're stuck in Ft Campbell KY so there won't be a baby shower.

I thought about getting baby shower cards and including the registry info. in there, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea or not. I figured since I have access to a LOT of military spouses with children, why not ask if any of you did it a different, more creative way. Hope you don't mind me picking your brains!!! Thanks everyone! :)

Hi Suzette!!! Congrats on your little one!! I remember when I was having the same delimma with my registry and my mom told me that people are going to buy you whatever they want so put anything and everything on your registry becuase you pretty much don't know what your baby is or isn't gonna need. As far as shipping goes, most baby stores (Babies R' Us, Target, Walmart, Buy Buy Baby) offer in-store pick up. So if those store are close by, your family can still buy you those items just have the option for you to pick it up in the store. That way nobody can feel like they CAN'T buy you whatever they want. I hope this was helpful and congrats again on your little blessing!!

Shaquoia, Thanks! I didn't know about Babies R Us having the in-store option for pick up! I'll have to put that information in the letter we send out with the registry information, thanks for the information!!! I know they're going to see something that they think is cuter/better and pick it up, that's what I did for a friend of mine, lol. But I did put anything and everything on the registry so I plan on telling them that most of it is guideline stuff, the rest is some essential stuff, like bottles and blankets, stuff like that. Other stuff is just the stuff we'd like to have, like the cutesy outfits. :) I appreciate all the responses, I know that a lot of people understand the whole baby registry stuff... but it seems like military mom's understand the distance factor a little better! Thanks guys!!!

Thanks Christina! I think we're probably going to get a lot of gift cards as well, especially since shipping can be such a pain and expensive with some stores. I basically did the registries as a guideline for everyone, that way they know the stores we're planning on going to. Thanks for the congrats and the good luck wishes!!!

Congratulations!!! Nope, I did the whole invites and cards for Babies'R'Us and Target. Sorry :( I don't see how that's a problem, really.. That way people can at least get an idea of what you want and what patterns and everything you like and maybe actually get you something that you can use. Hopefully you'll figure something out. But you know what, they may just send out a bunch of gift cards and everything since you all live so far away.. It's definitely a lot cheaper for them to do that instead of sending out actual gifts. I hope you're able to conquer this dilemma soon! Good luck with everything!!!
