okay so my husband has been deployed now for almost 2 months and everything was going GREAT! i mean the kids were great the house was running smoothly and it was like he never left. well now two months in the kids have just hit the wall or something. bedtime has NEVER been and issue at our house. the youngest goes to bed around 6:30/7 and my oldest gets and hour of cartoons in our bed to help him calm down for the night and then is in bed 7:30/8...normally....Well this past week i am lucky if the boys are asleep by midnight! it is a huge fight...i have tried to tire them out....not let the youngest take naps...push back bedtimes push bedtimes forward....NOTHING is helping and I NEED SOME SLEEP!!! any help?

Don't hold off sleep, if they get too tired, its harder for them to get to sleep.
If they are missing dad, try to bring him back, put pictures of him in their bedroom.
Before my husband deploys, I'm going to have him record himself reading bedtime stories, to play for my kids for bedtime. Maybe you could try to get him to send you something like that.

Keep your youngest napping.

As for your older boys, sit down and ask them what the problem is. Are they missing dad? They may be angry he's not home. Keep the bed times what they were, and maybe sing songs/read books that their dad liked or used. Maybe you could tell them if they go to bed on time (even if they're not asleep, at least in bed and quiet) tell them in one week they'll earn a phone call from dad. Make them earn their phone time with dad now.
