Care Package ideas

Some other ideas are...the water onboard starts tasting nasty so flavored packets for water is much appreciated (by my husband). The Walmart brand of brownies are good, also the Walmart brand Fruit Smiles. I just try to get snacks that he can't get onboard as well. Beef Jerkey, Keebler fudge sticks and Pringle sticks. If your husband has a laptop you could send him your memory card from your camera with any videos you recorded since sending videos are kinda hard due to the small Megabites they allow the sailors to get. Hope this helps you out some and gives you more ideas. Good Luck..care packages are always fun to do the boxes fill up really fast. You can get free boxes thru the postal service as well..they will deliever them to your home with the custom forms, tape and stickers.

wow great ideas ladies. can i have the cake in a jar recipe? that sounds like a good idea. i almost bought a bunch of left over easter chocolate but then realized the box will be hot lol. i am going to go to walmart and sears to get some pictures done very soon to send in a package for fathers day since he will not be home to enjoy it. he will miss fathers day, mothers day, fourth of july and halloween.

Sunflowers seeds, hard candy, magazines, card games, photos and personal cards.
My husband loves getting a letter from me and the girls. Even if they can't get there thoughts on paper I would let him know its from them and this is what they said. He still has every card and letter we sent him on his many deployments. As I have also kept the letters he sent me as well.

We sent my husband a shirt with one of those iron on transfer pictures of our oldest playing hockey and a little note recorder that the oldest had recorded "I love you Daddy" on, hard candies and those little packets of instant hot chocolate or specialty coffee creamer(the powdered flavored kind...I know that is odd, but he likes coffee and it improved the taste of what they had). I have also sent various of those little hand held games because if they got ruined it was ok and it gave him something to do, and UNO and playing cards so he and his buddies could play.

Pretty much the only thing I liked about deployment was making packages for my hubby! I did themed ones based around holidays, I counted the number of days he would be gone and wrote him that many reasons why I loved him, I made him cake in a jar ( let me know if you want the recipe, it's super easy and they LOVE it!), and bought him dvd's and things like that. If you do a bathroom package and send toiletries, be careful to put things that could leak into separate ziploc bags, you don't want deoderant mixing with rice krispies or anything like that!! Hope this helps!

thats a good idea heather. i will have to look into those little games. i bought him a new game for his xbox so maybe that will help a little. but he needs something to do on duty days. he has all of his duty days which is like 24 then in order for him to be off the day before he left he traded a guy for 15 of his duty days and gave him 100 dollars. so he will have lots of duty days and need something to keep him away lol

Send him candies, (my current is AF but my ex was Navy) even on a carrier the store is limited on what they have, its S America so its warm so be careful with chocolate. I used to send fun little games, like the classic games we had as kids that they make in travel size noe etch-a-sketch and I sent the sticky lizards but learned they were hitting each other with them. Make in fun!
