well hang in there I did three deployments and two of our kids were born while he was at sea too but as for the support group thing, there are a few places to start. 1. Try your fleet, family service center. If you dont know about your ombudsman they can direct you to her and to many informative places. You can also try the chaplain and i would find out if the boat has a support group because alot of times they will welcome you into theirs after all your hubby is on there. good luck and I hope you get involved with a group it really does make it so much easier.

If his whole chain of command is gone, it's going to be very hard to know anything. However, if they're not, there should be a way you can speak to them or their wives for support. Marine wives have clubs called Key clubs, i believe, where all the wives would do things together and for the guys deployed. You could check if there's anything like that with your hubby's group. If all else fails...OneSource is a great way to find out info!! absolutely great!!!!

he's a navy coreman on a ship that just deployed. his orders for this deployment were so sudden that he went to virginia for a short 5 day class then left... and i'm left not having a clue about anything! it totally sucks!

The FRG for the unit, the Chaplain. Didn't they have deployment briefings prior to him going? Also, is he AD or reserve/guard? military one source helps for almost all info. Post/Base websites.
