Anyone have some good information they can provide on the elementary schools in or around Ft. Hood? We are moving there this year (perhaps summer) and need to find a place to live. I normally choose that location based on the school. Thanks!

Bridget, I too live in HH, and my daughter has attended Nolanville for the last 3 years. I LOVE it! The teachers are wonderful, the Principle is the best around...I personally think it's a top notch school.
Good luck with your move

My daughter has went to both Duncan Elementary (in the Comanche 3 neighborhood) and Meadows Elementary (Wainwright Height, Patton Park, and Chaffee Village) on post and they are both excellent schools. I cannot think of any complaints I've had about either of them.

I live in Copperas Cove, and have been very happy with the school system here. Like Brittany said, they are very understanding about military issues :) My kids are in 5th and 9th grades, and have been here since 3rd and Pre K. They have never had a teacher that I was not thrilled with.

We lived in Copperas Cove when we were at Fort Hood and I loved the school system there. They were really nice about the struggles that military children can go through and are very understanding to things such as R & R among other things :)

What grades are your children in? I know on post that 4th graders go to meadows and it's a good school! Middle school starts at 6th grade so it depends on their ages! We live on post and our kids like their schools (smith & meadows). Meadows uses buses but smith students walk! I've also been told copperas cove has an EXCELLENT high school. Hope this helps

Thanks Rebecca! I know where Harker Heights is located, so I will keep that in mind. Do you know or have you heard anything about on post schools?

Well I live in the Harker Heights area and my little girl goes to Nolanville Elementary and I really have liked all her teachers. And I love being in this area.
