hey all you ladies!!! lol no exclusions! i live in manhattan i have a 2 month old daughter and my husband deploys in november i will most likely be moving back home to NE in november but the company would be great til then and support through out the deployment. idk tho these belly dancing classes sound interesting LOL.

Ok, sorry, I got distracted with the hubby heading off to SNCO course! So, how about doing a meet up at a park on post this coming Monday? Maybe right after lunch- say 1pm?! Anyone up for it? Oh, and which park? :P (Maybe the one down Trooper Dr. a bit from the PX?!)

i live on base near the old px and my husband is away at NTC. I have a 16 month old daughter and am expecting our second child in december. Been here since February and still havent met too many people. i would love to meet more people since my husband is training or always at work :(

Leanna, the zoo in Manhattan is pretty small like Amy said, but my little one loved it none the less! (I grew up going to Bush Gardens so every zoo is small to me!) :P I am definetly up for going if you want to make an afternoon of it one day! Maybe take a picnic, they do have a nice playground and picnic area!
I am going to check out the Custer Hill pool this afternoon also. I was told its normally pretty crowded but when I drove by yesterday it was practically empty so figured I'd give it a try! Maybe we can do a pool afternoon one day as a meet up also! I am almost always free, so whenever works! :P

I have to tell you the zoo in Manhattan is really small, you could see everything in about 2 hours or less. The zoo in Salina is a bit bigger and a pretty nice zoo. Yes there will be more belly dancing classes, I am sure a know there will be one again in the fall. I also know about a Mommy or grown up tap dance class that is a lot of fun. The fourth of Jly celebration in JC is a really neat thing also.

Well, when your belly is no longer holding a precious baby, and you're about 3 months post partum, maybe we all could go to a belly dancing class. I'm up for getting rid of this lingering belly! LOL!
There's a lot of nice things to go do around this time too... For instance the Zoo in Manhattan, I've been dying to go. If you have a young one, I'm sure they'll love it as well!

Leanna- We usually try to stay off post to keep away from the drama! And yes, it does mean its a bit harder to find friends! That's why groups like this are so handy!!

Welcome to the wonderful base of Fort Riley. If you're confused, you're not alone.
It's hard to meet people on Fort Riley. A lot of us, such as myself, like to live off base. (Drama is a little high on this base compared to others in my opinion)
You staying on base, or did you opt to stay off?

I have just recently signed up for a bellydance class in JC and it has been a great time, I would like to ijnvite you all to join the next class, it is a way for us to get to know each other and make some new friends in the local community. This is the way I have been able to make some friends here.

Hi! We just moved here this week! :P We are moving into our rental house in JC tomorrow!! Yay, no more hotel! I have a 1 year old and an due in mid-November. I am always looking for new friends! My closest friends at our old base were through Facebook and Circle of Moms, so I'm hopeful to find some just as close friends at this base!!

I will be moving there in a few weeks myself... I have a son that will be 7 in Dec and another that will be 5 in July... so far i have 2 friends that i met on facebook that are already there but would love to meet new people... Hoping to get a place on base... hubby is on deployment right now...

I belong to a Face book group called Faith, Hope and Love. They have lots of play dates as well as grown up activities.
The groups is made up of a variety of military, local and retired military wives.

Hi. Ive been here bout 8 months and I know what you mean. Ive met only a few ppl in the time Ive been here. Are you living on post? I have 2 little ones here, ages 2 and 4, and not having a vhehicle makes it a bit hard to get out and get involved to meet people. How do you like it here? Where are you from?
