There's 3 more weeks of my husband's basic training but now things seem to be even harder. Here's what's been going on...

I gave birth to our first child, a boy, on September 14 of this year (while he was away) and he couldn't come home for the birth or after even though we were told he would. I'm trying to work out how I can move to Georgia (where his AIT is gonna be because it will be 5 months). Stressing about this baby because he's really fussy a LOT. And honestly.. I'm just missing my husband like crazy. I just don't know what to do. I'm really upset tonight. Any thoughts?

I completely understand how u are feeling except for the giving birth part! My husband had 9 wks basic training , then went to his 16 wks AIT training, and failed that. Was a hold over for like 6 more weeks, then finally got his new MOS and new AIT training station, he did get to come home on his way to his new AIT trainng for 3 days. Now he is in Virgina for 11 wks !! And I am in GA, so we are closer now, and we did decide to wait to move til he got to his main duty station! So hang in there! If u ever need to talk just lemme know! Good Luck!!

No the paperwork is to get onbase housing. I know he won't be living with us off base but at least we can see him once in a while. I already have my military ID card and such.

I am a military spouse but I've been in the active army for eight years and IET soldiers are not allowed to live outside the barracks during their training unless it's lasts longer than 19 weeks(6 months). The paperwork he's probably talking about doing is just to get you an ID card. I just don't want you to get your hopes up about it.

He is in the army. His AIT is 5 months and he's gonna start the paper work for us to get on base with him as soon as he gets there but we're gonna move into an apartment outside of the base until we can move in with him on base. I've been working with one of the civilians who work for the military to make this happen. She's been extremely helpful and is making it work! :-)

Is he in the army? If he is even if you move down there he won't be able to stay with you. His AIT would have to be longer than 19 weeks for that. It might be best for you to just wait for him to get 1st duty assignment.

He's been in basic since august 11 (in total he'll have been there 11 weeks). I'm doing as much research as possible so my son and I can be with him.

Thanks for responding!

First off Congrats on your baby boy!!!! and I know the last few weeks my husband was in basic was the hardest cause you just want it to be over. At the time my daughter was 16 months old and it was hard while he was gone. How long is your hubby gone for basic training? I remember one of the girls I meet saying she was going to go out to where her husband was going to technical school (we are Air Force) and you just need to ask around cause you do have to get permission from the base where he is going to be at school at. So I would ask the base for information. Don't want for them to tell you, Most of the stuff I know is from asking around. Good Luck to you and your family!!! :)
