My husband is leaving for OSUT & training for 6 months in a month & it`s all becoming more real! He's my best friend & envisioning those 6 months without him is heartbreaking & frightening! Don't get me wrong though, I'm very excited for all that lies ahead of us! I just need some advice. We've been married a little over 4 years & have a 2 1/2 year old boy & an 8 month old girl. I know that our son is going to miss his daddy so much. What are some things that I could do to help with that?

Also, I'm most worried about our daughter being too young to really remember her daddy after 6 months. ? :(

Any tips & advice are welcome! Thank you!!

Hi kelsey I just wanted to give you some advice about your question. My husband is deployed and will not be back until next year he has already been gone for 3 months and it is hard. I have a 2 1/2 year old also and a 10 month old and it is extremely awful for my oldest. Whats keeps my 2 1/2 year old happy is Skyping and always seeing his picture that keeps her memory fresh if you cant skype just keep his picture around so she will atleast know he face.. but honestly she wont forget her dad completely. another way to keep her mind and your mind off of him being gone is to find something that you love doing.. for Ex i take my kids to daycare sometimes during the day and i might go catch a movie even if i go by myself or go swimming go walking around the mall just keep yourself occupied and you should be ok. Try to find some other wives that are also missing their husbands you girls should have a lot in common. If you ever find that you dont have anyone to talk to or get really down you can always talk to me and i can help you as much as i can... you guys willl be ok
